Passport question

We just received our passports in the mail today. Who signs my son's passport? He is five. You do have to sign them, right?:confused:

We had our son print his name in his own handwriting in pencil.

One of his parents needs to sign the passport, then (in parenthesis) put "father" or "mother". This is what my son had to do with his 3-yr old's passport about 6 weeks ago. We found this out on the national passport website.

for a 5 year old? i found this and think you will find it helpful...I found it off a website...it wasn't the official passport website, but it came from a NY passport/visa office website...it says:

 

Who Signs a Child's Passport?

If the child is under 16 a parent must sign the passport. In the space provided for the signature, the mother or father must print the child's name and then sign their own name with their signature and in parenthesis by the parent's signature, write the word (mother) or (father).
