Rockportgirl Posted November 11, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 11, 2009 Wow. You're very organized. I'm the opposite... lol Looks like a good list to me... :) I did notice you have contacts, though, so I assume you also have glasses. I didn't see those listed anywhere. I used to wear contacts and glasses and I would have been MISERABLE if I forgot my glasses. Nothing like taking your contacts off at the end of the day... kind of like getting out of your bra. :D

Catrin Posted November 11, 2009 #4 Share Posted November 11, 2009 I'm a bit OCD when it comes to planning, so I've been working on this packing list for some time. Anyone have anything they think I should add/subtract? :) Cruise Packing List • Face wash (3 oz. or less) Available for free in bathroom • Body wash (3 oz. or less) Available for free in bathroom • Shampoo and conditioner (3 oz. or less each) Available for free in bathroom • Games (cards or other) Available for free in library of ship • Cell phone charger (use cell phone as a clock) I would rethink using cellphone. You may get hit with roaming charges. A cheap travel clock is just fine • Small umbrella I think it is considered bad luck to have an umbrella on a ship
saltmom1 Posted November 11, 2009 #5 Share Posted November 11, 2009 You don't need beach towels. They will be provided on the ship and you can take them with you in the ports.

Guest LoveMyBoxer Posted November 11, 2009 #8 Share Posted November 11, 2009 One thing I take on ALL cruises are the disinfecting wipes. I wipe down every door handle, TV remote, phone, etc. before anyone touches anything in the cabin.

yogi2929 Posted November 11, 2009 #11 Share Posted November 11, 2009 I bring this and a bit more and pack in a carry on. Contrary to another poster do bring shampoo and conditioner. Carnival only provides a very generic shampoo and no conditioner. Bring Immodium. Use it for 'food related' issues, see the DR for any other reason. I try to buy pills packaged in blister packs. I try to leave as much packaging at home. Liquid Medicine, including contact lens solution, does not have to be in your 3-1-1 but does have to be declared. See the TSA site for more info. The Sham-wow can also be used to dry your hair. We've been using them for about 10 years now. Using the Sham-wow to get most of the water out of the hair makes the ships blow dryers more efficient. The extension cord can be a $1 three outlet one from Walmart/Target. Very light and can be put into your checked bags. Forget the beach towel. Leave you cups at home. Large plastic cups can be gotten up on the Lido. Snorkeling stuff- If you do not have enough room leave the fins at home. We don't use organizers, even when we are in a quad. I do have a small $1 store garden tote that we put on the vanity. Umm...Where's your toothpaste?

Krissta Posted November 11, 2009 Author #14 Share Posted November 11, 2009 Thank you everyone for your input! Lots of good things. :) I'm planning on using my iPhone (in airplane mode) as my clock. (There's an app for that! har har har.) I kept the alarm clock on there for the other people that are traveling with us. And, I'm putting a lot of stuff in my carry-on because I am paranoid that my luggage will be lost! :D As I said, OCD. haha

newcruiser09 Posted November 11, 2009 #19 Share Posted November 11, 2009 Depending on the deodorant you use, you don't have to put it in your ziploc bag for airport purposes, a fellow traveller told me this tip when they saw me struggling to get all my liquids back in that little quart sized bag they allow. Just a suggestion if you're running out of room...

cantwait06 Posted November 11, 2009 #23 Share Posted November 11, 2009 I saw some people listing that you don't need to bring certain toleitries because they are available in the room. This is not always the case as every ship and room seems to have different sample items in it. Also, the shampoo/conditoner combo they have in the shower and the soap-IMO are pretty useless, so bring your own. If you think you will need more then the 3 oz ones (and DO pack them in your carryon, you will be in trouble if your luggage does get lost) bring full size ones in your regular luggage. DO NOT plan on buying them on the ship, they cost a fortune! The other thing I would add is tampons and or pads, even if you think you won't need them. I didn't think I would need them-but $10 later in the ship store, I had the smallest package of tampons there was. For the small amount of space they take up I don't think it hurts to bring them, just in case!
Anjanu Posted November 11, 2009 #24 Share Posted November 11, 2009 The major change in my opinion is that you carry all of your medications either in your purse or your carry on. If your luggage happens to get lost, you're out of luck. Oh and one other thing, I wouldn't bring empty rum runners flasks, you might bring attention to yourself. :p
sbax Posted November 11, 2009 #25 Share Posted November 11, 2009 Hi everyone. I've been around for quite awhile but this is my first post. I never forget to take travel size Downey Wrinkle Release for those clothes that you know will come out of the suitcase wrinkled. What a lifesaver!
