enyliram Posted November 18, 2009 #26 Share Posted November 18, 2009 I'm booked into an ocean view blacony cabin on deck 6 on the Oasis sailing on December 12th, 2009. I'm a little worried about the ocean view being obstructed by the lifeboats directly below deck 6. The new lifeboats are so much larger than the previous ones, and positioned much further over the side of the ship. Can you find out how they will effect the sitelines from the deck 6 balconies? Thanks. we are on oasis dec 1 in a balcony cabin deck 6. will try to get on line when we return and tell you about the lifeboats and the view from our cabin.. parddr Posted November 18, 2009 #27 Share Posted November 18, 2009 We are sailing in Nov. 2010. Can you tell me if the sleep sofa is located near the sliding door or near the cabin door? Thanks in advance.
slyster Posted November 18, 2009 #28 Share Posted November 18, 2009 The middle of the ship is wide open...I'm not sure how far does it goes, but are there plans to protect it from the rain? Same goes with the aqua theater. What can Oasis do to protect the passengers in th event of rain?
Oasis of the Seas Posted November 18, 2009 #29 Share Posted November 18, 2009 I see a lot of questions. Where are the answers? Hi Boethius ... I'm expecting a lot of questions -- I'm the biggest cruise ship in the world after all -- so I'm going to compile everything and then begin answering Friday! Albert Ross Posted November 18, 2009 #30 Share Posted November 18, 2009 Are the menus in MDR the same as the rest of the fleet - onion tart and pork medallions on night one etc..! How do they keep birds and other wildlife from hitching a lift in Central Park Is Central Park as narrow, dark and dingy as it looks in the pictures - how much sun does it really get,and how wide is the bridge across the middle and how many rooms does it block light from How long does one zip line ride actually last as it looks like seconds on the uTube clip. Am I allowed this many questions?

How much advanced surfing time will there be and will one be for full time surfing?
Oasis of the Seas Posted November 18, 2009 #34 Share Posted November 18, 2009 Hi Oasis, I like your googly eyes! Are you the first ship ever to have more than one godmother? Not the first ship to have more than one, mecruiselongtime ... but definitely the first to have precisely seven! The Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley, christened Holland America's Zaandam in 2000 ... an odd choice for HAL, if you ask me, the biggest cruise ship ever built! Also, in 2009, Seabourn bucked the godmother trend by inviting all of its maiden voyage passengers to serve as godparents for Seabourn Odyssey. Seaingtheworld Posted November 19, 2009 #37 Share Posted November 19, 2009 Are there spinning classes on board and if so will they be held in the morning or the evening. I prefer to exercise in the early morning. The spin classes on the Freedom and Liberty were held about 4:00 pm. This makes for a rushed time getting ready for a show before dinner. Thanks for taking our many questions. Patty from MA Sailing with several family members on Oasis in March 2010

jroyalfuture Posted November 19, 2009 #40 Share Posted November 19, 2009 Hi "Lady O." We'll be on board on 10/16/2010, and we can't wait. We've already waited almost 15 months since we booked. I have lot's of questions, but everyone else has already asked most of these. I'm just waiting for your answers. I was wondering about a couple of thing. Will there be tickets to see the aqua show? We'll we be able to reserve ahead of time? What deck will the seating be on for the aqua shoe? Is there a Diamond lounge? I imagine there will still be an ice show--Am I correct in thinking this? Dan Askin Posted November 19, 2009 Author #42 Share Posted November 19, 2009 There is a short live action clip on utube of someone going across the zipline if you haven't already seen it then check it out. Ah, thanks Alonzo, much shorter ride than I expected. I think it should go down, down, down into the Boardwalk.
wadeham Posted November 19, 2009 #43 Share Posted November 19, 2009 ;)We have seen photos of just about all there is to see on Oasis, all of the entertainment areas, the dining room, the pool decks, the casino, the spa and so on and I must admit that I am very very impressed with her. However there has never been more then distant outside photos of suite 1720, or more spacifically one only two Sky Loft suites on the entire ship.So my questions are was this done for a reason and would someone PLEASE get inside of that room and shoot away? Crouton Posted November 19, 2009 #44 Share Posted November 19, 2009 Dear O, How does "Central Park" really look right now? I can't imagine it has achieved the lush appearance of the artist's renderings. Also, seriously, aren't all of the trees and vines going to have a LOT of trouble surviving 1) the salty air and 2) the constantly changing climate? I'm curious what RC has to say about how trees etc. were chosen to survive the unique conditions. Do they "know" that it's going to work, or is it a big experiment? Do get back to me, you big animal, you. Crouton
rcllover Posted November 19, 2009 #45 Share Posted November 19, 2009 Sailing 4/24 in cabin 9600 (D1 catagory). When are we going to see photos? Since shows (as well as specialty dining) will now be reserved pre cruise (90 days prior to sailing), will passengers be receiving detailed itineraries so we know when events such as formal nights, crown & anchor party, street parties, etc., will be held so that we can make "informed" reservations? digital_curator Posted November 19, 2009 #50 Share Posted November 19, 2009 Is the crew will be fluent with a few languages. My wife is uniquely french, she does'nt understand english at all. She was asking me if the crew might be multilingual, or at least, communicate in french and english. Speaking from experience on other ships, there will be crew members who speak French (especially at the guest relations desk) but it is not the most common language. There were a dozen French guests on our Alaska cruise and they were complaining about the difficulties communicating. We had an older couple seated at the table next to us and our waiter spoke no French (and they didn't have French menus) so I translated. They finally found a waiter on another floor who spoke French and he would run down and help out when he could. They offered to move the couple up to his section but they liked their table and stayed where they were. Hope you have a better experience on the Oasis!
