this one definately didn't have many kids on board his age.

I loved us just hanging out together, but I don't think he was too thrilled to hang out with his mom the entire time..... (just kidding)

You will have a wonderful time!!! Enjoy yourselves!!!

We travel the last week of February due to our NH school vacation. Not many schools have this week so we may run into the same issue.

I did a Power Point presentation with excursion options for each island (yes I work for a computer company). The 4 of us sat down and voted on the excursuions we want to do. We are planning on a Shasa tour too. Hope we don't run into the issues you did.

Glad to hear about the slide being open at the ports, I know my DD 10 and DS 11 will want to spend time on it.

Thanks for the response and the trip review.

I know what you mean about the shower curtain. We stayed in a suite this time so didn't have a problem, we had sliding doors but when we don't stay in a suite we bring two clothespins and put them on the bottom ends of the shower curtain and that solves the problem.

We were on the same cruise. Your pictures are great!!

Blueslily...I am so ready for this cruise and reading these boards helps so much.

Erin...again thanks. It is so awesome that you were able to provide your son with such an opportunity. He will cherish those memories.

We booked with Spencer Ambrose, too. I had read some great reviews and it is good to hear from someone who has been there recently.

Joy <<<<< 24 days and counting : )

Thank you again to everyone for their kind words!!!

St.Kitts...another perfectly hot day in paradise. We had pre-booked Carnivals Scenic Railway Tour. We chose to do the morning tour. We had to meet on the pier at 8:30am. We were all escorted to 2 vans and driven to the meet the train. When we were planning this day, I really didn't think that I would like this tour, but I did. In fact, I would do it again if I am ever in St.Kitts. My father and my son were bored and didn't enjoy it, but my mother and I loved it.

This tour is a train ride around the island and the views are spectacular. While going through the small towns and villages, people (mostly children) come out of their houses to wave at us. You could some neighbouring islands, coastal views and beautiful islands. The train cars are 2 levels. The lower level is enclosed and air conditioned and the upper level is open-aired. We stayed in the upper level.

On the train, there was a gentleman narrating where we were and facts about the island and we had a lady handing out drinks (water, pop and pina coladas). They also had 3 singers that would walk between the train cars and entertain us with their songs.

At the end of the ride, we were picked back up by our driver and driven back to the port. It was about a 20 minute drive. Once back at the port, we had time to explore the shopping. I loved the port in St.Kitts. It's new, with lots of shops. We actually spent a few hours strolling the port area, before we ventured back onto the ship for our last night.

Here are a few pictures from the train ride....

St. Kitts looks gorgeous. I've read a lot of reviews that cover the same thing that you did-the train ride. So you had a great time on it? I'm thinking of doing a beach that day, especially when I saw your pictures of the coast! Thank you so much for posting!

I am going on this cruise in September. Thank you so much for your pictures and reviews.

I was thinking of canceling because of so many of the forums people complained that the Puerto Rico cruisers were very obnoxious on board, cutting in lines, yelling down the hallways when people were trying to sleep and not following rules. I know there are cultural differences but did you notice this at all?

Also, would you recomend getting a day pass at a resort just to veg at their pool and use the amenities. I was thinking of doing this in St. Lucia. I am traveling with my two daughters 24 and 21. We are hopefully going to swim with turtles in Barbados.

You will have a good time. Didn't notice any noisy hallways or obnoxious people of any nationality.

Just off the cruise 3 weeks ago. Just my opinion instead of a day pass at a resort just stay on the ship and make it your own private resort for the day.

We got a day pass on St. Kitts at Palm Court Gardens. What a beautiful place!!! It is a short walk, or cab ride from port. The pool is gorgeous . We spent the day there. They have a cabana bar and patio lunch. $10

to get in and the drinks and food were delicious and reasonable!!. they

have a site on line.............you wont be sorry.

Do you get a lounge chair or is it extra? How much is cab ride?

Yes at Palm Court they have free lounge chairs, tables, regular chairs and

lounge beds by their pool. I think the cab ride was $8.00. We set a time

and he came back to get us.

It's not a large place; very quaint, clean, small friendly staff and the view

over the port is beautiful.......its very close to the port.
