Thats what i thought Derek. I drink Kenco Rich Roast, its freeze-dried soluble coffee, and tastes very good. Out and about I drink in coffee houses. Theres not much point me making coffee from beans at home, because I'm the only one drinking it, too much faff for one.

We dont drink a lot of coffee, average at home about a cup a day, we buy Kenco Smooth Roast, as you say its freeze-dried soluble coffee. When we are out, will normally have a latte, but that varies, as some places over do the milk.;)

Actually, all Latte's should have the same ratio of milk to coffee, at least they are taught that in Starbucks.

We thought it was too much trouble to make ''proper coffee'' at home but to be honest by the time the kettle has boiled it's no different really timewise. So is it just us that make coffee then?

Is Instant Coffee, not proper Coffee?

 

Its made from ground Coffee beans, is it not?

 

Or does it only count as proper when you grind your own!!!:eek:

I would say that no, instant coffee is not generally regarded as "proper" coffee. The same as comments about ''House'' wine not being as good, usually, as by the bottle. Last cruise this was true as well!

Interesting...didn't realise that, but I suppose when you make espresso you use one of those container things with the handle in a machine, leaving the coffee "grounds" behind. I suppose also you get more of these grounds using a cafetiere?
