Bering sea Crab boat information

We have booked this excursion through the cruiseship but have found it on line about $25 p/p cheaper. How far away from the cruiseship is the boat and what would our cost be for our own transportation instead of through the ship?

When we went in 2008, the boat was right next to where the Oosterdam docked. Literally, you could walk off the Oosterdam, turn left and go up the ramp to get on the Deadliest Catch tour. There is a cruise ship dock right downtown, too, but still, only about a 5 to 10 minute walk - all within sight of the main dock. Easy access - go, enjoy and let us all know what you think!

Its about a 2min walk if that, from where they Ryndam docked last year. I wouldn't worry about walking there.

Our Veendam cruise docked at the far south end of the pier and we absolutely had to hustle to make it up to the crab boat. We were the last ones on and two couples were left behind. Don't dawdle!

Without mobility limitations, it certainly is an easy walk. Even from the northdock mentioned above, not a problem.

 

Verify directly with the vendor, their current docking, however, stuff can certainly change, along with verifing time of boarding.

It doesn't matter whether you book through the sHip or independently - you get there the same way, which is walking. Where we were docked was about a 10 minute walk. If you have mobility issues they will provide a car but there is still a little bit of walking on the ramp and wharf. The mobility assistance is provided regardless of how you book. it is probably worth mentioning when you book if you need mobility assistance.

 

That said, its a great tour and well worth it.

Definitely an easy walk if you don't have mobility issues. I did it last year carrying my 25lb+ 2yo. 2x. We didn't go on the ship, but wanted to see my husband & 6yo off. The Princess Sapphire, was docked the furthest away from The Bering Sea Crab, which was aprox 15mins away.
