St. Thomas/St. John question

We are booked on a non cruise ship excursion to St. John that runs from 9:30 to 3:00. The departure and return point for the excursion is American Yacht Harbor, Red Hook. Our ship departs 4:30. I'm a little worried about getting back to the ship on time. I know we have 1.5 hours, but how about traffic, etc. Don't want to experience the cruiser's nightmare -standing on the dock watching the ship sail away. Does anyone know if this timeframe is sufficient?

Red Hook to Havensight is about a 20-25 minutes drive in low traffic/medium. And Red Hook to Crown Bay is about a 30-35 minute drive also in low/medium traffic. There tends to be traffic around 4-5-6pm when folks have to be back to the ship and also residents are getting off from work - this traffic is usually around town and in/out of town and cruise ship dock areas. More ships means more traffic. Do you know where you are docking and how many other ships are in port that day?
