Question about Juneau - Amount of shore time

My wife & I are sailing on the Coral Princess next summer to Alaska (1st time) and will be docked in Juneau one day from 6:30AM to 4PM. We have booked a whale watching tour with Harv & Marv from 8:15AM to 1PM. They said that they could drop us off at Mendenhall Glacier after the excursion. For those in the know, my questions are: 1) Would we have enough time to see anything on the glacier and make it back to the ship at an acceptable boarding time? and 2) How would we get back to the ship (bus, taxi, other?)?

 

Thanking everyone for their responses to this and also thanks for the much needed and greatly appreciated information already gained from you who have been so kind in responding to so many questions by others. Sometimes when I read a post, I realize I had the same questions - just didn't know it.

You have no access to the glacier. Your viewing is across a lake. And yes, you have "time" for this extended viewing. Shuttle buses are for your return, last season $7pp and takes 20 minutes back to the dock.
