cruzgryphon Posted December 28, 2009 #1 Share Posted December 28, 2009 Hi all, I was wondering about any feedback on the Serenade's "other" Southern Caribbean itinerary (going to Tortola, British Virgin Islands; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; St. John's, Antigua; Castries, St. Lucia; St. George's, Grenada). Specifically any feedback on: - When are formal nights - ship snorkeling excursions - ideas/ suggestions Any and all opinions/ thoughts are appreciated. Cheers, CG
SmokinActuary Posted December 28, 2009 #2 Share Posted December 28, 2009 When in Tortola, take a ferry over to Virgin Gorda and see the Baths. They are a must see. Antigua I would really recommend going to Darkwood Beach - it is stunning, white sugar sand beach. If I were you I would do some searching on the ports of call pages to get more information. Have fun!
erniesband Posted December 28, 2009 #3 Share Posted December 28, 2009 Doin' this one in January. This will be our 4th time on Serenade. #5 will be next year on the other itinerary. Formal nights should be Monday ( St Martin ) and Thursday ( Grenada ). We never take ship excursions. Better deals and no large groups to deal with. This will be our 1st time to Tortola - doing a 1/2 day excursion to the Baths with Patouche. http://www.patouche.com St. Martin is a great day for the beach and /or shopping, never found decent snorkeling there. In Antigua we always do a tour with Adventure Antigua http://www.adventureantigua.com All the tours offer good snorkeling, we like the Eco-Tour the best. For snorkeling in St Lucia we book a day with Island Divers at Ti Kaye Village http://www.tikaye.com For $80pp you get transportation, lunch, use of the facilities and a great snorkeling beach. Other land tours recommended are either with Cosal or Frank, you can find out about them on the St Lucia board. We've never snorkeled in Grenada but have always done a tour with Mandoo. http://www.grenadatours.com It's a great ship and you'll have a good time on her. NYCRUISR Posted December 28, 2009 #5 Share Posted December 28, 2009 We also did Eli's Eco Tour and I agree it was great. That would be my pick.
