San Juan Embarkation Question

Hi Everyone....

 

Sailing out of San Juan for the first time and our sail away time is 10pm....

 

So I have a couple questions... what time the earliest I can check in and are you allowed off the ship after you check in ?

 

I'm just trying to plan out my Sunday and see if I can see some of San Juan before the ship sails at 10PM...

 

Anyone with experience and or suggestion please chime in...

You should be able to drop off your luggage and check in early afternoon. Yes you can get off the ship and go around town but make sure you are back on board before departure. We checked in and did a tour of the ship then got off and walked around Old San Juan. If you go up to the fort, Sunday is when families come out to fly kites. Its lovely to see.

I sailed on the victory in june and we checked in at approx 2pm and took us only approx 20 minutes(maybe alittle longer because we spent some time checking out the booze).

And if you haven't done so, check out the San Juan Port of Call board, too. That's how I learned to use Priceline to bid on my pre & post-cruise hotels, where to drop my bags (too early to leave them at the port), where the restaurants and shopping were in the Condado area, etc. Very good resource.

We sailed in November and checked in around 11:30 and were able to board around 12:30. Yes, you can get back off if you want to.
