Kids club questions???

Recommended Posts

Hi guys just a quick one about the kids club, this is the first cruise we have taken the rug rats with us and was just curious as to how kids club works, are the kids automatically registered with their various kids clubs or are we required to book them in so to speak upon boarding the ship? and secondly we dont want the kids to be stuck in kids club all day long as we would like to spend some quality time with them around the pool and so on. How does this work, do we sign something allowing the kids to come and go as they please?

thanks guys

Yes, you'll need to take them up to separately register after you arrive, but it's up to you when you do it. I prefer to do it earlier, but there's no specific registration window. This is so they have your formal details with the staff on board (maybe something was incorrect or changed since booking), and so that you're familiar with their procedures.

Whether they have their own departure rights (can sign themselves out) depends on age and permission, but aside from that they don't have to be there all day anyway; it's when you drop them off and pick them up. Note that P&O (if using them) tend to be tighter withs space availability so it can be better to get their earlier if you want to be certain that they're not full.

We have just returned from the Christmas Cruise on Pacific Dawn with a record number of children on board. Our grandchildren were in Turtle Cove aged 3, 4 and 6. We registered them at 12 noon just after we boarded and every time they went into the club. It is a first come first served basis but even on the Christmas Cruise we had no trouble getting them in at any time. We signed them in and out during the days depending on activities on the ship. The kids had a ball and the staff were excellent. The only thing that was not so good was the night time regime. They started a movie early evening and each child had a mattress to settle down. But they kept the tv with cartoons etc going all night instead of settling the children down quietly. Because of this the OLDER kids aged 4 and 6 were not asleep when we picked them up at 10.30 - 11.00. They usually go to bed at 7.30pm. Because of this late night they didn't wake up until 8.30 - 9am. Other than that as I said the kids club was great and our kids who initially didn't want to go to Kids Club, were begging us to let them go.
