Price drop AFTER final payment - info needed!

I apologize if this has been asked before, but my search function is not functioning!

For the first time ever since the new policy, I have just taken advantage of a price drop after final payment! :D $460.00 to be exact ;).

How can I go about using this credit? Can it be taken out as cash at Guest Relations? Or does it have to be used up buying drinks, souvenirs etc?

Any help from those in the know would be appreciated!

Congrats on the price drop!

 

You can use it just as you use any other OBC except that any unused amount will be refunded back to your credit card. I don't know whether Guest Services will cash it out for you - they may direct you to the casino, which of course charges 3% for a cash advance.

We had a large unused OBC left from a price reduction on our 11/30 cruise on Radiance.

 

Went to GR the day before debarkation and they paid me in cash.......no questions asked.

 

Don't go to the Casino as they will charge you the 3% service charge on this refundable OBC.

 

You can just have it credited back to your credit card on file..........however, if it's an RCI Visa you will lose double points.

First--Congrats on your price drop!!!

 

You can get cash from Guest Relations at ANY time during your cruise out of your OBC. I just did this on my last cruises as I had HUGE OBC from price drops and used the money to pay for private excursions and such. At first they told me that I had to wait till the end of my cruise but I said "I don't think so". I then explained that this was OBC from a price drop and I wanted X amount of dollars. They then posted the requested amount against the credit balance and gave me the cash.:)

 

OH I noticed that you are from Canada also. If you paid for your reservation in CAD then they will convert it to US funds for your OBC. However unlike when they convert your US bill to CAD dollars even when not wanted with their stupid exchange rate it actually works in our favor when converting the CAD OBC to US OBC. IF your OBC is for $460 CAD then you should get about $450 US OBC. This is the one time that I actually like their conversion rates.:D

I can't believe how cheap the prices are for the first week of my B2B!

Maybe there will be a drop for week 2 as well.....although I don't want to be greedy...:rolleyes: Ok, yes I do!!!!!!:p

How do you find out of you have received a price drop? I paid for my cruise months ago, and still haven't figured it out. Our cruise leaves Feb 22

Go to the RCI Website and do a dummy booking of your cruise making sure that you have checked off all of the boxes at the bottom of the page that would apply to you.

 

When selecting a cabin category, if there is a residency/senior/military/law enforcement discount, it will appear in red under the cabin category.

 

If you are successful and have found a price reduction for your cruise, call whomever you booked with. It is not automatic, you have to call and request the fare reduction.

 

If it is after final payment, then your price reduction will appear on your SeaPass account in the form of an OBC which is totally refundable if not completely spent.

Hi to all,

You are correct in that you must check the prices yourself or call your TA or the cruise line if you booked directly and ask if there is any price change or if a different catagory may be a better deal. However some TA's will charge to make any change so beware and ask if they do. I have had prices changed as many as 10 or more times for the same cruise as the cost decreased.

Enjoy your extra $$$ and have a super cruise.

We are booked in a D2 cabin. Are D1 and D2 categories considered the same when comparing prices to get a credit? I see that the only difference is that the D1 cabins hold 3 people. The price of the D1 went down $20 from the price we paid for the D2 and wonder if we can get the credit or would we actually have to change our booking to the D1?

Thanks for any info you can give us. We are sailing on the Navigator later this month.

They are considered different categories. You would have to change your booking to the D1 to get that price.
