heffa72 Posted January 14, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2005 How was the piano bar? I love the piano bar, but it all depends on the entertainer....any feedback yet? For those of you who haven't gone, but are going soon, please report back to here!! Thank you! -Heather 3/6/
torybruno Posted January 14, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 14, 2005 His name is Ron Pass...here is his website link: http://www.ronpass.com/ He likes Billy Joel, Elton John type music, and has a great voice. He has a song selection list of hundreds of songs.....we enjoyed the piano bar...however it seemed like we heard the same songs every night. Someone in our party thought they were in the same order every night too. A few he has put in his own line here or there...and we heard those repeated as well. Forchunut1 Posted January 15, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 15, 2005 I thought the music was very good in the piano bar. But, I didn't spend a lot of time there so I didn't notice if it was repetitious. But, he did a nice job from what I heard. Always had a nice crowd there. gymbrat33 Posted January 15, 2005 #4 Share Posted January 15, 2005 Ron is an excellent entertainer. I also didn't spend a lot of time there to notice the repetitious music, but I enjoyed the time that I spent there.

Piano Man Ron Posted January 17, 2005 #7 Share Posted January 17, 2005 Hi, everyone! Heather: I'm leaving for vacation the very day you arrive on the Valor -- March 6. Don't know yet who will be replacing me. As far as the song repetition... how do you think I feel doing this for 5 to 6 months at a time! LOL  Guests request the same stuff all the time. Piano Man, Margaritaville, Brown Eyed Girl, Sweet Caroline, Friends in Low Places, etc. I try to strike a balance between accommodating the requests and mixing up the tunes. But yes, the piano bar "regulars" are going to hear a lot of the same tunes from night to night. :D Happy new year everyone! Snowball Posted January 17, 2005 #9 Share Posted January 17, 2005 Ron - I will be sailing on the Valor in June. Do you have any idea who will be the piano bar singer then? I see that your date ends in March, and I'm not sure if you are coming back after vacation or not.

staylor Posted January 18, 2005 #11 Share Posted January 18, 2005 Feb 6th here, too. Can't wait! I might request Brown Eyed Girl, though...I hope you won't mind!:D
Piano Man Ron Posted January 24, 2005 #12 Share Posted January 24, 2005 I'll get word on my next ship assignment within a few weeks. I don't know yet where I will be. I have a handful of Barry Manilow, including Copa, but the others, I must admit, I do as a tongue-in-cheek medley. ;) I've toyed with the idea of posting my playlist on my website. What do you think? Sometimes folks who leave my cruise e-mail me and ask me for a copy of the song list so they can buy recordings of some of the tunes I play. Oceans456 Posted February 20, 2005 #15 Share Posted February 20, 2005 Ron, My vote is to post the playlist. Can't hurt. People can check it out before going oboard & maybe not ask so much for songs not listed. Linda
