So we were walking around shopping and we decided to check out Diamonds International. We had been talking about getting married a lot lately (we have been dating for 6 years now) and thought we would check out the rings there. I really didn't think that this was something that was actually going to happen that day, I guess I didn't want to get my hopes up. I know my DF didn’t really think so either he had actually been looking himself and thinking of ways to surprise me. We started looking at some lose diamonds and found a beautiful diamond that was way under priced comparatively to the ones that I had looked at in the states. They said they could set it exactly how I wanted (which is a tiffany setting) and it would be ready in two hours. I looked at Paul and asked him if this is really how we wanted to do this? The funny thing is this so him and I. We aren’t the crazy romantic type of people. We like to discuss things and do things together. We have a great relationship because of this and this was just like everything else we do. We knew we were ready and we decided to buy the ring! I really was shocked and very happy.

We both needed a drink to celebrate our decision and decided to do so while we waited for the ring to be made. We decided to go to Breezes because all of the other places were places would could try out in other ports. We ordered the Hurricanes. They were really fabulous and I highly reccomend stopping there for a drink and sitting on the second floor deck.

Here are some picks of us with our drinks waiting for my ring to be made.

Once we were done with our drinks we headed back to the store to pick up the ring. It was beautiful and exactly what I wanted. We decided to head back to the ship to get some lunch and spend the rest of the day by the pool. Here are the pics of us heading back.

A pic of my ring.

That night we had made reservations at the Golden Fleece. It turned out to be the perfect night because we were able to celebrate our engagement. We got dressed and ready and took some pictures before we headed there. None of those really turned out very good though. When we got there we were ½ early but they were able to seat us anyway. We had a cozy little table next to the window. We decided to go all out and get a bottle of wine with our meal. We chose a chardonnay. Then we looked over the menu. We wanted to try some of the things I have heard and seen on food Network or Top chef but never get the chance to try so my DF got the crab cake (remember we never eat seafood so this was out of the box for us) and I got the beef tartar. The crab cake was actually really good but I could have done without the tartar. There really is nothing to great about raw cold beef and olive oil. I should have gotten the onion soup I had heard such great things about. Next were the Caesar salads. We wanted to compare them to the dining room and pizza station. They were good but I still have to stick with the others as being my favorite. For dinner my DF ordered the New York Strip with a baked potato and I went with the Filet. We both got the peppercorn gravy on the side. Our steaks were the best we have ever had!!!! My DF’s had entire roasted garlic on top that spread like butter. My steak was so flavorful and melted in your mouth like butter. It really was fabulous. I managed to snap a pic of our two steaks. They were so pretty they looked like art.

Oh, and the bread was fabulous too. Lastly I ordered dessert. My DF had ate his entire steak and was stuffed so he did without. I ordered the cheesecake which was the size of a small country. It was very yummy but I could only eat 1/4 of it.

If you have a bit of money to spare and want a fantastic night with great food you should definitely eat here!

After dinner we checked out the show that night. It was a comedic juggling act and it was great! I don’t remember the guys name but he was hilarious! He came up with a lot of stuff on the spot as far as jokes and conversing with the audience. He picked some guy to help him out who was a cop and he made jokes and jabs at him constantly from that point on.

After the show we went to the casino again. Paul played poker and I watched. I play also but I just wasn’t really into playing with the group of people that were there. I do better in tournament settings and don’t play well for cash games or with people who don’t play often, it messes up my game. My DF didn’t mind though and he ended up winning a couple of hundred dollars. I feel bad that the money comes from other guests and not carnival, but I guess they are the ones who chose to play. After my DF one a good amount we decided to get some drinks and walk around on the deck. We went up to the front of the ship and it felt like a wind tunnel. I could barely walk! The stars were beautiful that night. That is something we don’t see a lot of living in Chicago.

After our walk we headed for bed. It was a long day but it was amazing! Tomorrow we were docking in Cozumel and we had a long day of relaxing on the beach there so we needed our rest (tee, hee).

Here is our towel animal from that night. It was a monkey but looked like a sumo wrestler from the back;)

Day #4 - Cozumel Mexico

We woke up around 8:00am this morning. We had our breakfast wake-up call and enjoyed that on the balcony. By the way, the room service for breakfast is just cereals, bagels, and Danish). Today I had booked a day at Nachi Cocom Resort. It is $40.00 for the entire day. They only allow 100 people in each day and it is all you can drink. They also serve you lunch and provide you with your own cabana and chairs. There is a pool/hot tub with swim up bar and an outside patio area to eat at if you decide to. They also offer parasailing, snorkeling, fishing, and have floats and other water stuff for rent. I think they also have jet ski rentals. We thought this was a good deal for the drinks and food alone.

When we got off the ship we were amazed at how new everything was. The dock in Cozumel and little shopping village is brand new because they replaced this after a hurricane wiped the place out. The little shopping village is cute but actually bit pricey comparatively. I think they try to rip people off that don’t want to travel far from the ship. We walked through the village to the cab pick-up area and grabbed a cab to get to Nachi Cocom. It only cost us $10 to get there, we were pleasantly surprised. I did forget to get change ahead of time though and had to run in and get some from the resort when we got there.

The ride there was nice, lots of vegetation and you got a chance to check out the other resorts along the way. There were definitely some bigger resorts with lots of bells and whistles but they seemed very crowded and more expensive.

When we got there they took our pictures with these crazy Sombreros and I just had to buy it, it was just too funny.

Checking in was a breeze and in a matter of minutes we were sat t our cabana with cold Mai tai’s in our hands. The beach was beautiful; the water was as blue as could be. I have heard warnings of sand fleas but we weren’t bothered by any. We were also handed menus for lunch and were told we could order what we wanted and have them bring it in any order/time we wanted.

Here are some pics of the cabana and beach.

We had also booked some time to go parasailing while we were there. This was also cheaper than any other place in Cozumel and other ports. It was only $90 for the two of us to go. I think through carnival it is that per person. This was absolutely one of the best things I have ever done! It was sooo much fun. We didn’t know what to expect and I screamed a lot but we thoroughly enjoyed it. My DF also “officially” asked me to marry him while we were up in the sky. It was great!

When we got back, tragedy happened, kind of. Paul forgot the camera was in his pocket and jumped in the pool!!! I was sooo scared we lost all of the pics you have already seen 9so obviously we didn’t) nut our camera was Kaput. So just a pre-warning, the rest of the shots were from a disposable camera and are worse than our crappy digital camera was.

We decided we had enough relaxation (and had PLENTY of booze) at this point so we shared a cab with couple we met on the beach to the downtown area.

Nachi Cocom was amazing. There weren't even near the hundred mark capacity, the food was awesome, the drinks even better, and it was beautiful. If you are looking for a great place to relax this is it!

So onto downtown which is only about five minutes away from where we had docked. Now if you plan on shopping you must go Downtown. There is a lot of stores and the prices are way cheaper. I found my magnet and we also made a stop at senior frogs where we purchased some yards which will explain the silliness of the future pictures that I will post. It was crazy in there and seemed like everyone was having a blast.

I need a break so I will post more later with the pics from downtown.

Congrats on your engagement! Ring in Grand Cayman and officially pop the question in the sky over Cozumel.....awesome! I love it.

The Legend is my favorite ship. We plan to go on her again in the near future.

Also next time in Coz Nachi Cocum is at the top of our list. It is our favorite port, we've been there several time and never done the same thing twice.

For someone who was searching for Legend reviews with pictures....a link to mine is in my signature. Review 1st then pics...so just skip over a few pages.

Ready for more, please! :D

I'm not sure??? They seem to be working on my end. Sorry you can't see them.

I started reading last night, pictures were there... tried to read at work today, red X came home and the pictures were there again. I suspect it's the office's way of saying.... NO DAYDREAMING!

And... I don't smile much in pictures either so leave the poor man alone
