Embarkation time

Recommended Posts

I have sailed RC twice and was able to embark early on the 2nd cruise ... does anyone know how early you can embark on the liberty in Miami would love to beat the mass of crowds that I experience the first time in Miami.

Like you, we've done RC a few times and always were at the port at 10:30AM appx. We plan on doing the same on the Valor next month. I imagine 10:30-11:00 should be fine.

Be glad to hear what the experts say tho.

We cruised on the Liberty in December and got there about 10:45-11:00 ( I can't remember exactly). We didn't have to wait in a line for security or to get our Sign & Sail cards. We did have to wait about 20 minutes before they called our zone, but we were definitely on the ship by 11:30. But part of this also could have been that the ship was not help up by customs and the previous passengers were all off at a decent time. There's always the chance that something might not go as usual and you could be sitting at the port for a couple hours to board. We knew this, but took our chances b/c we had to check out of our hotel anyway.

The time you embark is not set at all. It depends upon how long it takes to clear the ship of it's previous passengers, etc.

I always arrive at the pier early - and am there, in line, when the door opens. That way, when boarding does begin, I'm in the first batch to go.....

I think the most important thing is to be checked in before the buses start arriving from the airports. After that, lines are very long and chaos seems to reign.

Excellent! I'll see you then!

Waiting in line doesn't have to be so bad as long as you have something to entertain yourself with, such as a book, magazine, cocktail, board game or whatever! I'm going to be sure to have the batteries on the kids' DVD players fully charged and plenty of bribe material to keep them from getting unruly in the line.

Boarding starts around 11:30, give or take 30 minutes. Unfortunately the best way to beat the crowds is to wait until the last minute to board. It is hard to get 3000 people on a ship in 3 to 4 hours without it being a mess.
