sue in florida Posted January 11, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2010 My question is this--an inside stateroom on the Cconstellation is said to have a mini bar. Does this mean it has a refrigerator? Thanks for your help
Denny01 Posted January 11, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2010 Yes, all Celebrity staterooms, including your inside, has mini-refrigs. If you want to use it and don't use the items inside, your room steward will empty it. Denny
kitty9 Posted January 11, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 11, 2010 If you're planning on using these refrigerators to keep things cold, don't bother. They barely keep things lukewarm.
JerseyGem Posted January 11, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 11, 2010 If you intend to use it, definitely ask the cabin attendant to empty it for you- that way, he'll know that you haven't used anything from it (and won't charge you). On the last evening, he'll remove your items and restock (and lock) the minibar. As mentioned, it doesn't keep items very cold, but it's fine for holding sodas, beers, water, etc. We even kept yougurts and cheese in there without any problems. Yes, some cruiselines are notorious for this. That's exactly why I always ask the cabin steward to do the emptying. And we always check our bill half way through the cruise (as well as before we leave the ship). We didn't have any problems (like charges) using the mini-bar (for our own items) on the Connie in November 09.
loosygoosy Posted January 11, 2010 #7 Share Posted January 11, 2010 We always have the cabin steward remove the items from the bar fridge. We put our own things in and have NEVER had a problem with being charged!

The mini bars on Celebrity don't have the automatic sensors, so relax! I've been victim of one of those in the past--on my first business trip as a new lawyer I picked up literally every bottle in the minibar and almost had a stroke when I saw the bill the next morning. A quick phone call took care of it.
