erRN2be Posted January 15, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2005 We just booked a tour with Marvin and Wet n Wild Cave tubing for April....Yeah!! Any way I had a couple of questions about the actual tour... 1. How cold will the water be in April? 2. Is it fresh water? 3. Has anyone seen any native animals on the walk to the river? Any other input about the trip would be greatly appreciated.... Can't wait....
csk47 Posted January 15, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 15, 2005 Hey erNB.. We booked with Marvin, too, largely because of what we have read on this board, but we are leaving Monday. Our son-in-law works for Delphi in Kokomo but they live in Westfield. We just booked a tour with Marvin and Wet n Wild Cave tubing for April....Yeah!! cruisinhs Posted January 16, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2005 I would email Marvin about the water temp. I know he told us that the water inside the caves stays about the same temperature all year. The water is fresh and sooooooo CLEAR!!! We didn't see any native animals when we were there. They have a lot of reserves around there to keep the animals safe. You are going to have a blast! Make sure and let us all know what you think when you return! Nanatravel Posted January 16, 2005 #4 Share Posted January 16, 2005 We did the Cave Tubing with Reggie and it was in April. The walk (air) temp was about 72-75 and the water was really nice - tepid. Not cold at all. Of course it is cooler when paddlign through the caves. The water was fairly low when we went too, so be prepared to paddle. Wear a t-shirt that covers your under arms so you won't get chaffed. Bring some hyrocortisone or at least some neosporin to help alleviate any rubber burn rash. Canvas sneakers or teva style sandals are better than aqua shoes. Wear your swim suit under your clothes and just bring a change of underwear to change into before the return bus trip. Bon Voyage
