  1. I agree, Hyatt Place off 17th (on 10th) is usually great for the money. As we drive down, we usually need a parking package and travel to and from the port. I have used their Parking and paid for their shuttle driver. Parking for us at Park n Go, has worked. I just add in the parking fee.
  2. We like the Embassy Suites, 17th St. but lately their pricing has been high but we do travel in Prime season. We have also stayed at the Hyatt Place, right around the corner, which is fine. Love the close proximity for eating and shopping if necessary. You can even go to Publix and make a to go salad from their salad bar.
  3. We stayed at the Radisson as it had a Parking Package which included shuttle to the port. Room was clean, hotel was nice with a lovely Tropical Pool area. Only disappointment was no restaurant. For lunch we went walked right next door to this little Greek restaurant. Very clean with wonderful Mediterranean food. I am sure there are other small restaurants nearby. You do need to sign up for the shuttle which starts taking people over to the port pretty early like 10 AM, so it wouldn't be long before you would be on board and getting a bite to eat.
  4. We are in our 70's and I have diabetes and am subject to Asthma and Bronchitis. We have two cruises booked late Jan. 2021 and late August 2021. Cruise lines know your age as it is entered on your booking (for any senior discounts). I am not going to fuss about this new restriction now as who knows what the future brings. I'll cancel if need by just before final payment is due the end of October.
  5. Maris, thanks for posting all of your Colombia photos and review. We loved Dora when we took her tour many years ago. We just took a taxi downtown and it was so crowded it was unbearable. Pushing the Rollator and trying to "watch my step" was all I had to do. We were fortunate that we got to climb the fort, but it was very rough even then. Glad I got to do it then as walking is limited now. The Barracks had great shopping stores. Loved your outside and street view shots. I really could not appreciate the historic beauty of Old Downtown this visit. I liked walking through the little aviary at the port, then I caught the shuttle bus back to the ship. Your pictures with the flamingo and birds were beautiful.
  6. Love your pictures as well Les & Melody. We 4 got to enjoy it earlier in the week on a sea day. That Seafood tower looks great but I do prefer my lobster warm.

  8. Glad you arrived home safely and have decided to self quarantine. It was a pleasure to meet you once again. I layed low much of the cruise. I definitely didn't get my monies worth out of the Drink package, but that's OK. With a limited appetite, I just didn't feel like my usual Irish Coffee each afternoon. I never even got my free Gelato. So far I'm loving your photo story especially since I didn't get off the ship in many places. You went the southern route in Bonaire from the picture of the wind sails at Sorobon. We did the Northern and it was bumpy and boring. Only local focal point was the 1000 steps, which I certainly had no intention of walking. Rincon was a disappointment as just a church and local houses. With this virus, I sure hope I get to go to my GI doctors appointment. The family has had 2 calls today rescheduling appointments. Keep up the good work. Maybe our paths will cross someday on another cruise.
  9. Thanks so much. We are on the Reflection. I think my old phone had it but I forgot how to get it.
  10. Jim_Lane how do I down load the celebrity App on my new Iphone? I'm technically challenged. We leave home on the 29th.
  11. Good question but no answers. Most refreshment stops allow use of their restrooms as long as you buy a soda or something.
  12. You will probably get more response if you post this on the general Celebrity forum. Just go to categories and search for Celebrity.
  13. Maris we will both have to take a good look at these walls for the Reflection motif. We are in Blu plus the Tuscan Grille is down that way too. Bev
  14. Thanks for sharing your photo blog and especially for putting titles of each shot. You've made me more anxious to book a river cruise including a few days in Prague. What time of year did you cruise and visit Prague? I noted some folks where wearing light Winter jackets. Living in the South near the beach now, I rarely wear a heavy jacket but luckily still have those options in the closet. TIA
  15. On a Sunday many offices are on a limited staffing; only open in the morning when ships arrive. I suggest calling tomorrow, Monday. First go to the general Celebrity forum and search Rental Cars for Ft. Lauderdale. Don't use Budget, as their location is very understaffed and slow. 2nd. go to your Roll Call Silhouette October 24, 2019 to register and ask questions there as well. No need to book a hotel for just a half day. National/Alamo are both off site and very close to the airport which is close to the port. As soon as you disembark, call the agency for your rental and they will make sure a bus swings by the terminal.
  16. Do you have his contact information? Just Simon, I don't think would do it. TIA
  17. Cozumel it is Paradise Beach Club for the water, beach, activities and reasonable fees. Then you can venture downtown, if you like to shop or just shop at the pier. Grand Cayman, Royal Palms is nice and fairly reasonable. Just sand and beach.
  18. To my knowledge there are no True malls in historic downtown Charleston. For lots of name brand stores, you would have to rent a car and go over the Ravenel Bridge to Mt. Pleasant. These stores would be like TJ Maxx, Harris Teeter, Hobby Lobby (not on Sunday). I'm sure there are Belks' and other Southern stores. We stayed at the Charleston Place (parking garage is extra). It is right in the heart of beautiful historic Charleston. The Craft Market, Horse & Buggy carriages are just a block away. One block back is their main shopping street with lots of boutiques. We live in SC but 2 hours away, so don't go into the city often.
  19. We just stayed at the Radisson Resort at the Port and had a Park & Stay package. Our cars were perfectly fine even though the lot is not gated. Very quick and easy shuttle service took about 5 minutes from final loading to all of us on the same ship disembarking the bus. Pleasant shuttle drivers. Porters knew exactly where their bus was parked upon return, not wasting time trying to find the right bus. Would do this again in a heart beat.
  20. Not sure what the present pricing is for port parking. We just booked Park n Go, Eller Drive for $7.99 a day. Their lot is fenced in open to the elements and has fast and courteous drivers & staff. We have used them many times and highly recommend this lot.
  21. Which ship and cruise date are you sailing on? I don't see your screen name on our Celebrity Silhouette cruise. We hope to go to try Sandcastle Beach first week of February. Leaving FLL on Jan. 31. You can find me on the Celebrity roll call board.
  22. I thank you too. Don't usually buy alcohol while cruising any longer, but this does sound very good. Love the Coconut Cream sound too. I can just taste a Coconut Bay Breeze. Yum.
