Taxis available in Galveston at end of cruise?

Hi all. Are taxis readily available at the end of the cruise in Galveston? We will need on for a quick ride over to our rental car at the Holiday Inn Sunspree. Thanks!

It depends on what you consider "readily". It's been a while and could be different now, but when we docked in Galveston there was a line to sign up to get a taxi. I'd say it took about 20-30 minutes before we were put in a taxi to get back to the hotel to get our car. Not a big deal, but if you're expecting to get in a taxi really quickly, you'll be surprised :)!

None on Sundays.

 

Hertz and national have offices in Galveston, but both closed on Sundays.

We are actually renting a car and leaving it at the hotel while on the cruise. Our flight does not leave until very late on Sunday so we wanted the flexibility of taking a side trip to NASA on our return from the cruise on Sunday. Plus when we compared the cost of either transfers/shuttles/limos from Hobby to Galeveston and return it was not much more to just rent a car. Hope that helps.:)
