twarr Posted January 19, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2010 We are cruising on Carnival Destiny in February. How late can you fly into Miami airport to get on the boat? Thanks!
Langley Cruisers Posted January 19, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2010 You must be finished the check-in procedure no less than 90 minutes prior to departure time and even that is calling it close. However, and I'm sure everyone will agree with me, is there any way to fly in the day before? We could certainly (and unfortunately) tell you some horror stories of same-day travel, our own included. If I were you I wouldn't risk it, but I know some don't have a choice.
JohninDC Posted January 19, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 19, 2010 We cruised Destiny last spring and I seem to remember getting underway just before 5:00 - so you'd need to be at check-in no later than 3:00 or 3:30. It's a 20-30 minute cab ride from MIA, so you could in theory make it with a 2:00PM flight arrival - but if ANYTHING goes wrong you will miss your cruise. Do yourself a favor and book the earliest flight arrival you can, or better yet follow Langley's advice and day in the day before. that way weather issues, flight delays:mad:, mechanical failure, flat tires, missing luggage, and a million other things that can go wrong will not ruin your vacation. Good luck!:)

trish1c Posted January 19, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 19, 2010 Remember there will be 4-5 cruise ships also leaving that day. the AP will be a zoo. Factor that into your plans & don't cut it too close b/c you never know what could delay you.
