White noise machine advice needed

Have you used a white noise machine to block out sounds from theaters, noisy neighbors, ship noises, snoring, etc?

 

What brand works well, is inexpensive and travels well?

My wife has one from Target that works great. We have taken in on many cruises.

i turn on the tv in the cabin and listen too the activities of the day station. it helps me sleep and i hear nothing. i sleep like a baby.

My DH bought a very small fan for a trip he took to Japan. It has a clip on the end of it that allows you to clip it to surfaces. We took it last time on our cruise and it worked well for us.

I have tinitus and am an insomniac. I use one of these and it really helps. I bought my from Amazon.

 

Read the reviews. The thing about it is, its not a cd, or digital noise, that after a while, your brain begins to figure out the cycle, and you start in your brain "ok, her comes the tree frogs".

 

And its not a fan. Fans I can here go whoosh, whoosh, around and around.

 

Its hard to tell by the picture, but they are about the size of a large cottage cheese container.

Our white noise machine is one of the best things we have ever bought. We are so used to it that we can not sleep without it and always take it with us on our cruises. In fact we own two of them, one for home and the one for trips is a smaller model made for helping babies sleep, but it works great for adults too.

 

We bought them at Brookstone. They are not cheap, but well worth it.

Any brand should be fine they have several at Bed bath and beyond. that said and while they are battery operated too, be sure to bring a multi outlet extension cord.
