Help - Open Powershot SX120???

I am in so much trouble. I promised my daughter I would download her photos from memory card to stick for her high school photo class tomorrow. She's been in bed for 2 hours now.

 

But I can't open the little door on the bottom, marked "Card/Batt Open" to pull the card out. All instructions and other cords are in her room. This is a new camera, and I haven't used it.

 

Anyone familiar with this? I think the door should slide out, but not having any luck.

Most Canon P&S cameras have a door on the bottom that skides to unlock and then hinges out. On the SX120 it looks like it slides towards the front of the camera and then flips open.
