Any FLL hotel offer free shuttle to Miami Port?

We are staying on the beach and hotel has private shuttle for $100 up to four people. We only have 2 people and cheapest private shuttle with pickup at a beachfront hotel is $84. Found shuttle service from FLL airport to POM for $15-25 per person but we would also be paying $25 taxi ride back to FLL.

The Renaissance Ft Lauderdale doesn't offer transportation to the Port of Miami. Private transport is $80 each way = $160. The least expensive room today (12/11/2013) for a family of 4 is $119.

This brings the room at Renaissance plus transport to the Port of Miami to $279 before tax.

 

$213 at Hilton Garden Inn Ft Lauderdale includes round trip transport to Miami. The deal is on their website.

 

It's too far out to get those good deals now.

 

My point is that August is off season. Wait until June or July to book the room then book your transportation with an independent contractor.

round trip is to get you back to the airport AFTER the cruise.

Update: Here's a twist to the story. When I reserved HGI Ft. Lauderdale I entered 2 adults and 2 children. The rate for the room was $213 including round trip transport to/from pier.

HOWEVER!!! When the confirmation came via email they UPPED the price by $72 saying they didn't include the kids even while using the existing bedding (2 doubles) I'm canceling the reservation! No HGI for families!
