Well Im back from the wonderful weather of the carribean to the crappy snow of NJ . I lost about $2000 this trip which wasnt really so bad. I came home with $3k . I played craps the first day at sea and lost like $1000 and quit craps. My better half and I played pennies for most of the cruise I hit a $250 Jackpot ( if thats what you call it ) . The last day at sea I got the itch and played blackjack while she took a nap . I started with $300 and I have a habit of going south with chips ( meaning I put a few chips every win in my pocket) I had so many chips when I was done I could barely walk lol I got em for like $1200.00 and after all said and done i was about $2000 in losses .By the way for the first time on a cruise we got free drinks the whole cruise like 2 per day when we gambled. The casino host and slot attendant both comped us drinks.

VERY interesting! Thanks for the story. I always wanted to play crapless craps but could never find the game......

:p:D

If you're ever in Las Vegas, stop by the Stratosphere, they have it.

I did see a guy a few years ago that rolled up to the craps table in a wheelchair and laid out 2k. He had 2 well dressed gentlemen assist him. He was very well dressed, about 60 Y/O and heavy set. I also noticed that he had a large amount of rings and bracelets on. One of the bracelets said champion. It looked like the world champion poker bracelet.
Did he look anything like THIS man?

If you see a "crapless craps" table, run as fast as you can, away from it.
Why?? Granted it is not everyon'e cup of tea, with the proper use of money management it can be a profitable way to play. How many times have you been on a table where the shooter rolls 4-6 horn numbers in a row? I saw 4 11s in a row yesterday. A $5 bet would have paid out $14 each time it rolled. $5 come bet with $10 odds would have paid $35 each time it rolled.

For the mathematically challenged the house edge on a pass line bet at craps is 1.41%, at Crapless craps it's 5.382%. Proper money management or not, it's a sucker's game just like face up BJ. Anytime the casino adds a twist or side bet to any established game, it always carries a high house edge. Like I said run away from these sucker games.

I've seen it done a few times, but it is a total waste of money and stupidity.... But then I guess if they don't care and they have that much to throw away.... why be judgmental.....

That would buy another nice trip though.... may be even 30-60 days worth...LOL.

A well known high roller from Beaumont, Texas came in two weeks ago and nailed them for $1 Million+.

Is this high roller a lawyer by any chance? I only ask because I used to know one from Beaumont who has won or lost over $1 million in Vegas in a given weekend.

I don't know if you'd call this guy a high roller or just a idiot.... I was playing craps ( like i always do when the wifey ain't around, she hates it and make me play 3 card poker) anyways Its a up and down game, no one winning, no one loseing... this guy walks up to the table plops down 2k and says "No ten" dealer says "bet" now the guy with the dice sees this and just shakes his head ( as I was doing) about the time the dealers get the chips in the don't 10 ( there was 2 maybe 3 rolls before the chips got on the 10, with the counting and all) the shooter rolls a HARD ten !!!! much to the delite of the shooter who bet the hardways......Me I just shook my head as he left.... after he was gone the shooter said " I knew i was gonna make the 10 as soon as the guy bet the hard ten" LOL

The wife and I have lost as much as 5k on a casino but it was over 5-6 days. and we have won a few times and broke even a few times....

1 time we was at sams town LV, and were haveing a really bad run of things and were down to our last 200. and still had 2 days to go. I had us playing keno ( very slow game and small bets) needless to say we hit a 7 spot for 7k. on a quick pick no less LOL.... Then went ona small wining streak we won 500 at bingo (her idea to play) 1k at a dollor slot and $1500 at $25 BJ ended up staying 2 extra days comeing home with $8700 I know we should have left as scheduled... instead of giving some of it back.

This past summer we did a quicky cruise on RCCL out of port canaveral with my bother ( 149. for a 4 day to nassau) we didn't do very well, brother spent his alotted casino money the 1st night. wifey lost some and just wasn't feeling it.... last sea day after dinner I said I was going to the casino and play a little I was feeling something.... they followed, everthing was full except the craps table. So I took $40 out and started I was two away from shooting so just made a line bet and a come bet, I wanted to throw the dice. I was down to $15 when the dice got to the next to me. I didn't see how I could throw the dice so, I just layed it all on the line, to make a long story short he threw the dice for 35 minutes and I walked away with $1500, the other at the table never increased thier bet and most left with only a couple hundred lol

Consider me the small wager. But on the March 6, 2010 NCL cruise, at the next table there was a gentleman betting more money than I have ever seen on a cruise ship. Can't say that he won a lot, but on day 3, playing blackjack with a 6 deck shoe all week, his average bet was at least $2000 (max table bet). But a few nights he was betting 3 positions at $2000.00 each bet. I know one time he asked for more money and he signed for $30,000 that they brought to him. About 30 minutes later, he either won some or lost it all. Talking to the dealers, he was up and down all week.:)

Does Carnival let you deposit money and then draw from it like normal casino's??

When I go to Vegas or AC they have no problem keeping my money(on deposit) in "the cage" and let me draw against it as needed.

More times than I care to remember! But I love it and can always still pay the bills on time so no real harm, right? My daughter (22 year old) never liked to gamble much as she prefers "shopping" with her (my!) money. But last week she ran $100 up to $1200 at the blackjack table......then lost a double down hand (her sister hit when she shouldn't have!) and then proceeded to go downhill from there! She was crying at the end of the night....I told her it was a "life lesson!" and the rest of the family all agreed that it took a couple of those experiences to learn "when to say when!" but she has recovered....and probably a good lesson for her as she had also won $2000 on 4 aces a couple of nights before. We didn't want her to think that is was always a winning proposition!

sort of like when you see "Spanish 21" or some other new version of an old game - the only sure bet is that they didn't tweak the game to give better odds to the player...

I just got off the Epic and spent $3,000 of my money and everything I won in between. I called to book my next cruise with NCL and all they are offering me is 17% discount on my next cruise. I don't think so... I have gotten inside cabins for free on my last three cruises spending about the same, so what is going on with NCL ?

Did you contact the casino host to find out what their problem is as to why they are not offering you anymore free cruises?

Ok not sure of who teh lady was that I spoke with in casino marketing, but I decided to call back yesterday and speak with the man I normally book with and I am now happy. I booked a different cruise, but got my cabins with only paying my port charges/taxes. I guess it was a mistake or maybe that lady didn't understand what she was doing.;) By the way, they were oceanview and upgraded to balcony ! :)
