Excursion or No?

This is our first time to Roatan. We've cruised quite a bit, sometimes booking excursions before hand and other times not. On several occasions we've booked an excursion after we walk off the ship and we've always enjoyed them. Anyone have any ideas or pointers on whether this is a good idea in Roatan? I just booked this cruise a few weeks ago so I haven't had a lot of research time to get all our excursions together. Normally we book a year in advance and I spend weeks poring through information regarding excursions so I am feeling unprepared....:eek:
