From Ferry Dock to Faa'a Airport in Papeete

We are planning on storing some of our cruise luggage at the Faa'a airport luggage storage for one night when we travel to Moorea pre-cruise. From what I have been able to find out, the luggage storage facility is upen until 12:30 pm and 2 hours before international flights. If we plan on taking the 11 am fast ferry from Moorea to Papeete (supposed to arrive at 11:30 am), will we then have to take a taxi over to the airport to collect our luggage before 12:30? Are there taxis available at the ferry dock or do I have to pre-arrange transportation to the airport?

Thanks for your help!

Hilary

we took all of our luggage with us on the ferry for our precruise stay. they have bins that you put it in at the dock so you don't have to lug it into the ferry yourself. we look letruck to our pension, and it had luggage stroage underneath, just like a transfer bus does. It would save you the cost of transportation back to the airport and then back to the dock- that could run you an additional 40.00.

Laurie-

I know there is luggage storage at the airport, but do you know if there is any place to store luggage at the pier, before we board the ship? We arranged our own air and our flight arrives at 5:30 am...Would love to do Patrick's tour that morning, but am wondering about the luggage. Thanks, Marilyn

I didn't see any type of storage facility when we were there. we did Patrick's on our first full day on the ship- please keep in mind that you will probably be pretty tired when you get to Papeete but I do understand wanting to find something to do. Patrick's is lots of fun, but certainly not relaxing. Have you thought about taking a cab to a resort, say the Beachcomber, for the morning- you could go for breakfast, and I am sure they would have a place to store your luggage. We stayed there the night after our cruise, it is the most beautiful property I have ever seen.
