mcsmith Posted January 31, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2010 For those who have already cruised, does "ship's time" remain on Eastern Time, or does it transition to and from Atlantic Time. If it transitions, can you tell me when? Thanks in advance, Mike
Bethee99 Posted January 31, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 31, 2010 it usually changes to whatever port you are in. They will tell you the day before if you need to change your clocks.

Not on Oasis! The ship is on Eastern time and remains on it. Captain Bill emphatically and repeatedly announced that we were to remain on ship time while in port and to follow ship time instead of island time. Rare broberts Posted January 31, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 31, 2010 Bear in mind that this is different from ship to ship. In fact in another recent thread a poster suggested that ship time was set by the master (captain) and might therefore be different on different sailing of the same ship. Correct, when the Oasis changed captains the other week that policy of ship or port time could have changed. I haven't heard any comments so I would assume it is still ship time all the time. Typically it seems like if it is only a difference of one time zone for a day it will remain ship time. If the difference is greater the sun set/rise begins to be noticeably different and then things change to port time.
Cruising89143 Posted January 31, 2010 #6 Share Posted January 31, 2010 It was still eastern after the change in Captain.
