Another QM2 transfer question

We are in the planning stages for a Eastbound TA in the fall. Arriving in Southampton, Is it a better deal to sign up for the Cunard coach tranfer to London or do your own thing and take the train?

We will have one day in London on the back end and would like a smooth transition from the ship to our hotel in London. The cost is not the biggest factor, just want to avoid the goatrope that sometimes happens when leaving a ship.

Thanks

I think it depends on a couple of things. First, Cunard has an option of Self Disembarkation. It requires that you have no more than 2 pieces of luggage per person and are able to move them off the ship without assistance. If you think self disembarkation would work for you you can be off the ship quite early, and then it's a short cab ride to the station and frequent trains into London. If that works for you, and you are willing to be dropped off at Waterloo Station in London that should work well for you.

Otherwise, you can buy on the ship transfers to several points in London, which may work better for you.
