Is there a charge for getting cash in the casino?

Recommended Posts

We'll be on the 6/18 Voyager and my husband has a question - sometimes, to avoid having to take a lot of cash with us, he'll go to the casino cashier and get some cash with his ship charge. This is what he uses to pay tips on the last night. On Celebrity, he could do this and there was no surcharge. On the QM2, they charged an extra 3%. The convenience is not worth it if there's a surcharge. I know he can do it at the purser's desk but there's no line in the casino.

It will be treated as a regular purchase and not as a cash advance. I believe you can charge up to $2000 per day.

That's news to me. I was on the Monarch less than 2 months ago and the tips were not added to your Seapass unless you requested it.

I sailed the Voyager last Septemeber and they were on there. THey were posted on the tv the very first day. Maybe they dont do that for the smaller ships.

or maybe my honey went to the pursers desk to have that taken care of first thing when boarding. NOw i have to check.

I'll put my money on your honey doing it up front. Tips are not mandatory and the amounts are just suggestions. Ship size is not an issue...I've been on Voyager twice and Explorer once. Trust me this board would've exploded or will explode if that was RCI's policy.
