Dream 1-23/1-30 The perfect cruise

I have to be some what brief as I'm at work (first day back).

Flew down early and stayed at the Raddison, it was great, friendly staff, great pool area, great entertainment, great rooms, good food.

Getting on the ship was the easiest ever, from the time DB dropped us at the curb (1:15pm) till we got to our cabin was 15 mins. I love the way they seporate the VIPs before security.

We had a Cat 11 on deck 7, great cabin, great location, no movement. We never heard a sound from either cabin beside us, only monkey boy and howling dog boy on the bal. Dw smoke always drove them back inside.

Did not eat in the MDR at all, just the buffet and the food was very good, always hot and good selection. Never saw the long lines, but we don"t eat at peak times. Pasta was good, burrotos were good mongolian wok was good with only a 5 min wait.

Entertainment was great and there was alot of it, everywhere. Comedy club was the best, never had trouble finding a seat. Juggler Edge was great. Laser show was cool. Big screen a hit.

A lot of older people on the ship and no chair hogs. Could always find a empty hot tub, not so many kids, we were even able to use the pools.

Did a special behinds the sences tour which was also great, can not tell you much about it as it came through corporate, but we did sit in on a dress rehersal.

Smoke was not a issue on this cruise, I smelt it once in the hall and never noticed it in the casino. (Won $535.00 for the week).

Ship was clean and everyone on the crew was friendly. Did notice the smell on deck 2 in the halls, but only for a few seconds.

Yes there was a fight, started at the beach on Tues, then to the showroom Wed, and on the Lido Thurs, 2 women. Started with a beach chair. Very sad that some people just don"t know how to behave.

Getting off the ship was easy, we had a late breakfast then wandered about checking out all the different cabins and 9am walked off with no line. Bag was waitng and very short line at customs. Both DW and I thought the cruise was perfect for us and we really loved the size of the ship and it never felt crowed.

If you have questions I may be able to answer them, maybe not, as we did free style crusing our way. Only wore long pants once the whole week and that was for the ships tour as Dw wanted me to look good.

Thank-you and have a great day.

What did you do in ports? Eastern or Western?

Western. In Cozumel we just walked around and found a great place to eat 3 blocks from the water, very good food, mostly locals and a few crew. Hondorus, did the beach by the ship, okay beach, nice water. Did the chair lift which I enjoyed so much I rode it 3 times in a row.

Belize, did not get off the ship due to our special ships tour which I can tell you we are the only pax to do this.

Costa Maya, couldn't dock due to winds and waves.

There is a great new space on deck 11 around the pool with lots of tables in the shade and hardly ever got much use. we ate alot of our meals there while people watching or checking out the big screen. Also a great spot to watch the lazer show. There is also tons of chairs on deck 5 that dodn"t get much use. The hot tubs there where never crowed and empty most of the time. There was no noise issues from that deck at night.

We were on same cruise and had a GREAT time. First time Carnival cruisers. We enjoyed all the shows. The comedian Al Ernst was hilarious. Thought the Laser show was a little weak. We really enjoyed the Pasta Bar for lunch, ( huge servings ) Lots of available loungers on deck 5. Definetely will be DREAMING again...Next time Eastern.Could not believe the fight in the theatre between the women....They really need ushers there to enforce the NO Saving of seats..

The one little boy sounded just like a monkey with his screaming and the other little boy just like a barking and howling dog. They were more than a little loud. But when DW starting smoking the parents took them inside. Tobacco products do come in handy some times.

I keep thinking of things. Todd the CD was very good, we saw alot of him and he was very pleasent. Jeff "The Fun Dude" was fun , he has a very dry sence of humor which I liked, he also has a very quick wit. It also nice to see john and have a chance to talk to him. I just read a couple of reviews from this same cruise and I can't belive they were on the same ship, wow. No matter what you read, the Dream is a great ship with a great crew with plenty of space for everyone.

... ah "annoying kid sounds" fought off with annoying smoke. Quite the battle, I am sure. Hopefully neither will be nearby for our sailing later this month!

You are right, you would not want to be near us. Not only does DW smoke but I am a civil war whistler (one of the top 3 in the country) and I love to sit on the bal at night a whistle. I love the way it echos.

I trust you are kidding...

WOW - if you were a whistler in the Civil War, which side were you on? :D

No joke, I,ve been whistling civil war songs for the past 15 years. Just recently I've started doing some WW1 songs also and yes I do have too much time on my hands.

I agree it was a good cruise. My father won the new Bingo game that pays off your sail and sign card. He had a cheep cruise

Interesting... tell me more of this S&S bingo!

> Is there a limit? (Can it include CASINO charges) If so, I might start playing bingo again!! :D

> I assume it refers to the balance PRIOR to the bingo game, LOL

We were also on this cruise and if my memory is right the Bingo game only pays off your bar tab up to $500 prior to the game. But that still is very nice.

Thanks.

That certainly discourages having a PUNY bar tab...

Why do they bother with that gimmick.... just pony up the $500 to the lucky winner... it's not like they have not collected many times that from all the players!!

I am not particularly partial to GIMMICKS...

There were two different bingos that paid for two different bills. One WIPED OUT your S&S bill that you had up to time of the game. 8pm. That included all excursions, and everything else on your bill. The other bingo wiped out your bar bill up to 500.00. They also had one for a free cruise. The cost was $10.00 for one card or $20.00 for three cards.

The one you say which "wiped out" your S&S bill sounds almost too good to be true. I have had some S&S bills which were several thousand dollars.

What's to stop someone from getting $1,000 each day on their S&S card in the casino (Cheryl and I could both do this - so $2,000 per day) and POCKET the chips just in hopes of a BIG PAYDAY with (SEVERAL bingo cards)?

OR - (can you return jewelry/watches to the shops before the cruise is over?) Hit the Jewelry shop right before Bingo for A HUGE purchase, go in and play Bingo. If you win, WOO HOO!!! If you lose, return the items and know that you had a shot at a big win!

There must be a catch!

Hey Tom, not to steal the thread, but did you ever hear back (and willing to share) on the letter you sent to corporate on loyalty program (wants and desires)?
