I remember that the haircut was well done... Can't remember the name of the associate (two years ago)... There are similar specials run all the time... F5Loar Posted February 2, 2010 #6 Share Posted February 2, 2010 I think just a haircut is about $35 plus tip but does seem to vary from ship to ship. If it were me I'd get one before I go at your regular barber for $10.

scchasgal Posted February 2, 2010 #9 Share Posted February 2, 2010 What if the ship hits a larger wave just as they go snip :D You may want to get it while the ship is docked.

My wife uses the Spa to blow out her hair sometimes. She uses a local stylist in Brooklyn heights and would never allow someone else to cut it. they do an ok(just) job on blowing it out IMO. McCutie Posted February 3, 2010 #11 Share Posted February 3, 2010 I am not going on the Jewel until April but FWIW I am a hairstylist and I always have my hair cut or styled every time I cruise (#6 on Norwegian) and I have always gotten a great cut or blowout. Not cheap but over the top either. Treat yourself....They ladies have always been very nice and I always got comps on the cut/style.

A woman who used to catch my commute bus with me got her hair colored on a Princess cruise, and it looked like black shoe polish. Sorta been afraid to venture into any ship's salon since seeing her. mummsie Posted February 3, 2010 #13 Share Posted February 3, 2010 Hey, thanks but i'm a girl, so i'm looking for any women who've had their hair cut, what type of hair stylist do you regularly visit and how did the stylist compare on the ship? my son's SO had hers cut on the Jewel. The guy who did it was very good. She has short hair - actually very short at the time because she was just 10 weeks out from doing 'shave for a cure' for the Leukemia fund here in OZ so it was looking really ratty. He did a fabulous job on it. :D mummsie

mjkacmom Posted February 3, 2010 #17 Share Posted February 3, 2010 My daughter got just a style and curl blow dry and it was $50 plus tip. Wow, that's cheaper than it costs at home here, but I'd never get a cut without a referral (like noticing someone's cut over time, and asking where they go).
