Priceline car rental

There have been some good awards for Priceline cars out of Anchorage. BUT research fully all the options. Great independents, also Thrifty, Payless, Dollar, Alamo especially offers some great weekly rate sales- have gotten $149 or lower last several years. Priceline totals the total price. You can expect about 20-25% additional for taxes direct booked.

We go up to Anchorage pretty often, and nearly always use Priceline for rental cars. Our savings are seldom less than 40%+ compared to typical rates. Usually works for standard/full size cars or smaller; SUVs seem hard to get except in winter. Like BQ says, though, shop hard, especially with the non-national firms. Use a general travel website like http://www.alaska.com for links to local companies.
