hotel as excursion

Last spring I saw a recommendation to go to a hotel where the lobby was practically an excursion itself. There was a restaurant, a band playing in the lobby, and other interesting things to wander around and enjoy. I can't find it now. Does anyone know where that might be? We'll be in SJ for such a short time (4:00 - 11:00) that that sounds like a good way to "see" SJ.

A few years ago Princess had an excursion to the Intercontinental Hotel if you had a late plane after the cruise. We spent the day at their pool and had a wonderful buffet lunch that was included. They had vans going to the airport every half hour or so. I don't know if Princess or other companies offer the excursion these days, but it was well worth it.
