Need Some Advice

I plan on booking 2 Hal Cruises on the Nieuw Amsterdam one for 12/26/10 and one for 7/28/11. I will be on the Noordam on 3/25/10. Should I wait to book on board? One is a 7 day and one is a 12 day. Booking VA Cabins how much credit do we get booking on board. My TA will get credit either way but she says we do run the risk of the price going up esp, for the 12/26 cruise. Need some opinions please, book now or wait till were on board?
