outerspaceguy Posted February 13, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2010 Anyone know if there is a sports bar on the Connie. I would love to watch the Olympics next week. There is not. After her retrofit, there may or may not be one. They put one aboard Millie after her retrofit last year. It's the one thing the M class ships lacked.... (Also note: the Olympics will be on the NBC networks, so be sure to check which ones the ship gets. Be warned: It may not be a bountiful selection (and I don't think they get NBC ((proper)) at all - after all, which affiliate do would be the proper one?...)... ESPN international may have it instead....

outerspaceguy Posted February 13, 2010 #5 Share Posted February 13, 2010 Where is a sportsbar on Millennium? The S class are brand new and they don't have them. As I recall, they moved the flower selling place and made a sports bar area (opposite the centrum/glsss elevators). Check out the Sunrise Deck (DEck 10) on the celebrity Millennium maps over at http://www.celebritycruises.com/plancruise/ships/deck.do The area is called "Extreme"
outerspaceguy Posted February 13, 2010 #6 Share Posted February 13, 2010 Thanks. I will check the sports channels in my room. or try to convince cruise director John to open up the theatre or cinema and tune the screen to the desired channel... I have only sailed Millennium once so that is why I was asking. I didn't remember it..no wonder...it was not there on my cruise;)..that was back in 2006:) Since you made the comment about the 1 thing the M class ships are lacking I am guessing you must not be pleased with any of the ships...none of the others have them either. Put it this way: I love the design of the M-class ships: I've been on all of them. They were initially all missing a nice public area to watch sports, with lots of TVs. They remedied that on Millie last year. Probably on the others as well as they come in for their next refurbishment as well. It's a good change to a wonderful ship. I have been on all of them as well:) and I love sports too:D...as long as I can see the NFL Playoffs if I sail during that time I am happy;) And they always show them in one of the lounges or in the cinema. I guess you will find out about the other ships after they come out of their individual drydocks....whenever that happens.
Rare Texed Posted February 13, 2010 #10 Share Posted February 13, 2010 They put one aboard Millie after her retrofit last year. It's the one thing the M class ships lacked. Millennium has always had a sports bar. It is called EXtreme, and it is on Sunrise Deck. It is the only "M" class ship that has a sports bar. It is the only "M" class ship that has a sports bar. I did not know that she always had it. I've been on (in this order): Summit Infinity Summit Millie (thee weeks after her recent refurbishment) Connie (pre her upcoming refurbishment) Mercury (upcoming; in April) I picked up on the (new-looking) Sports bar on Millie and thus assumed it was a refurbishment enhancement. On the other M-ships, the closest thing (besides the cinema or theatre) would be the bar in the casino. It has one TV in it, but the casino is closed if you are in port.... Rare Lois R Posted February 13, 2010 #12 Share Posted February 13, 2010 Hi,:) you know what they say about assuming;) quote: "I picked up on the (new-looking) Sports bar on Millie and thus assumed it was a refurbishment enhancement." I suppose it depends on one's priorities. I love sports but for some reason they fade into the background when I am sailing:D

Multiple passions are better. And be sure to indulge them periodically. Even when cruising. ;)

JohanneandRéjean Posted February 13, 2010 Author #15 Share Posted February 13, 2010 or try to convince cruise director John to open up the theatre or cinema and tune the screen to the desired channel... John (last name please). If this is the regular cruise director from NY we have sailed with him a couple of times and he can be quite accommodating for this type of request. Do you know if he is on the Feb 14th sailing. Thank you.
outerspaceguy Posted February 13, 2010 #16 Share Posted February 13, 2010 John (last name please). John Grantham was Connie's cruise director when I was aboard her in December. I'm assuming he still is, since that was just a few months ago.

CelebrityMan Posted February 14, 2010 #18 Share Posted February 14, 2010 Hi, Here's a few photos from September aboard Millennium: http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2259413180099099348rImjTU Once you've opened that link, simply follow the option in the upper right of the screen to move to the "next" photo in that queue. There are several photos of the sports bar. Hi, Lois!! :D CM
