How early can I board the Elation?

We were on the ship by 1 PM, and we weren't the first ones on...that was in August 2004.

We were just on the Elation. We generally try to board around 11-11:30. However, on this last trip, the ship was fogged in and no one got on board until almost 3. I think 11 is pretty safe.

We arrived at the pier at 10:45 AM. I dropped off my wife and our luggage and parked the car. I walked back to the pier. My wife found a porter and dispatched with our checked luggage while I parked the car. A few minutes past 11 we walked in together. Their were no lines and we breezed through registration. We sat and waited for about 45 minutes and were among the first to board a few minutes past noon. This was in November 2003.

 

The traffic situation infront of the terminal is a zoo. Once inside the terminal it was a breeze.

So if our flight from Lubbock lands at Houston Hobby at 11:55am, do you think we will have time to drive out there in time to board before the ship leaves or should we come in Sat night?

Why take the chance of a flight problem? Fly in the day before if that's an option for your party!!

 

The drive from IAH is at least 90 minutes to Galveston. The drive from Hobby Airport is at least an hour.

Kristi...go the night before if you can. We have always done that and find you get up in the morning all refreshed and ready for your big adventure, not dragging your sorry butt onto the ship. :eek:

I would have to agree to go the night before if possible,.

 

I have vowed never to go right to the plane to the ship unless its last minute..

We always go the day before, there is always the possibilaty of having some kind of delay & you are not so rushed the day of the cruise.
