Pugdog007 Posted January 20, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2005 I'm sure this is a dumb question. I want to land on a glacier and go dogsledding. Are they one in the same?
Yukon Posted January 20, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2005 If your dog-sledding involves a helicopter and a bunch of $$$, it's on a glacier (or snowfield). If it involves a van and a lot less $, it's a wheeled cart on dirt. Is $$$ a better experience than $? - you betcha! :) Murray
Budget Queen Posted January 20, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2005 The dog camps are on more "snow" than ice. If you want more ice- with crevases etc, then just take a regular glacier helicopter landing, usually within walking distance there is plenty of ice and that spectacular BLUE. :)
jrask Posted January 20, 2005 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2005 As per above, distinguish between wheeled and snow and then decide what you want for the "on the glacier experience." For me, it meant exploring the ice formations rather than the snow and this issue outweighed the desire to be with the dogs.
