Too Many Shore Excursions in Juneau

Our ship will be in Juneau on7/17/05 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Right now we are looking at "Mount Roberts Tramway"; "Whale Watching & Wildlife Cruise" (4 hours); and "Glacier Flightseeing via Floatplane" (1-1/4 hours). It would be possible to SQUEEZE all 3 in before we leave, but just barely AND that would also mean that we'd have absolutely no time to walk around the town.

The only other way we see it is to cut out the "Whale Watching and Wildlife Cruise and take a longer Flightseeing excursion and then do the whale watching in Icy Straits.

Anyone have any suggestions as to which trip I definitely don't want to miss.

And did all of you who have done Alaska before save time for touring around the towns in addition to your excursions???

I would not recommend booking Mt Roberts ahead of time because if it isn't a clear day, you are wasting your time. Plus you can walk accross the street from the dock and do this if time permits. As for whalewatching and glacier landing, if you take Cap Larry with Orca Enterprises, they work with Coastal Helecoptors to take you from one to the other and save an hour of time in backtracking. Many on this board recommend that. While we had a great day with whales in ISP, we have also had good days with Capt Larry on two trips.
