What is a "designated luggage area" onboard ncl?

Hi Everyone,

I have a question. I read on one of the Hawaii threads that someone was onboard POA on embarkation day and took their carryon to the 'designated baggage holding place'. Is there such a place onboard where on embarkation day you can leave your carryons and they will be safe until you can go to your cabin and store stuff? I have never heard of this and if this is true, OMG I would be the happiest cruiser alive!:D Also, does anyone know if the NCL POA has a quiet area on deck for adults only? Thanks for any responses.:D Come on, make my day!;)

When you first board and they hand you the freestyle daily...it will should you where the temporary storage is, if not just ask. On the Dawn it is usually the Dazzle Lounge, not sure for the rest.

On the Pearl it is the card room, greatest thing getting rid of the carry ons.

There is another alternative....

If you don't want to carry your carry-on, just give it to the porter at the pier and it will be delivered to your room.

That way you're not dragging around the suitcase whether or not the ship has set up a temp luggage holding area.

We just take ours to the dining room, have a nice quiet lunch, and then it is time to take it the cabin. Works fine.

That's exactly what I do. I put all my valuables in my carry-on, so I wouldn't feel comfortable checking it (either with a porter or in a holding room). It doesn't leave my sight.

It was in the casino on the Spirit. This worked very well for us. We were given a ticket and the area was supervised. We just went back and got them when we were ready to go to our cabin.

Thank you all for your replys.:D It's nice to know that such a service exits as I've always carried mine with me into the buffet area and sat around until it is time to go to the cabin. Since we usually have about three carryons as there are three of us, it will be nice to be able to store them. We sail on the POA to Hawaii on 4/3. Can't wait!:D

There was a designated lounge with someone on duty when we were on the Jade, but no where for hand lugggage storage on our recent Star Panama Canal sailing, They did have a spot for storage in the dining room where we ate our first lunch.
