We were planning to do Glacier and Dog Sled v Helicopter in Juneau and were debating between Yukon Expedition and White Pass Scenic Railway OR just White Plass Scenic Railway but were sure which one was better. Also, if we would the Yukon and White Pass would we have any free time in Skagway?

Ketchikan: Totem town tour, Ketchikan by Horse drawn Trolley or First City Deluxe Tour Any input. Thanks.

I responded on the Princess board. Especially the Ketchikan choices you could do better with walk up booking at the dock visitor center. Have back up plans in Juneau- the glacier dog sledding is the most canceled of all Alaska tours, plan now if you will consider a glaicer helicopter landing if available. Your time in Skagway will depend on your port time??? Are you there all day?

Hi!

Juneau - It sounds like you have this port squared away. If not, whale watching was wonderful. The Mt. Roberts Tram is right on the dock if you want a quick ride to a nice view.

Skagway - We have taken both of the White Pass RR excursions (with and without the Yukon). Both were very enjoyable. We had time to stroll Skagway after each. Just be sure to check your arrival, departure and the tour times to judge.

Ketchikan - Went to Saxman Village as part of a larger tour. We really liked visiting with the native craftsmen working there and wish we would have had more time. Our favorite was Neet's Bay Bear Watching. Depending on the time of year you are going, you might consider it. It is not cheap but it was a terrific excursion.

Have a great cruise!
