reloopag Posted February 27, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2010 Can anyone describe in detail the wardrobes that are in a Premium Balcony grade cabin? I've seen photographs (all exterior, no interior shots) where the wardrobes appear to be 3 sections - a middle section with 4 drawers and a small door up top, flanked by full length doors on either side. Is the safe above the bank of drawers behind the small door? Are there single rods or double rods in the full length door sections? Are there any shelves in the full length door sections? Where, usually, are the life preservers stored? Thanks, in advance, for your help!!
TheOldBear Posted February 27, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2010 On the left side is hanging space for special hangers - they fit into hooks that slide on a rail, so you won't be tempted to take them home. On the right side there is hanging space for conventional hangers [not a rod, there are little sliding brackets with holes along the top. Wire dry cleaner hangers fit nicely] Each side will hold a dozen or so hanging garments, with some shelf space above that on the right side. In the center, the safe is in the upper section, above the drawers [takes up half a shelf]. You can lock/unlock using either a 4 digit code or a card swipe. PFD's [life jackets] are in the top of the left hand side. We were in section B4, and our muster station was the Queen's Grill - probably the only way we would ever be sitting in that space ;) . reloopag Posted February 27, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted February 27, 2010 Thank you for your help. Can the cabin steward remove the "special hangers" so that conventional hangers can be used? Your comments will help me with my packing!
TheOldBear Posted February 27, 2010 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2010 Nope - there's no rod on either side. The special hooks are only for their own hangers. Also, my wife reminded me that if you have a long gown, it may be too long for the space in the wardrobe. We had a hook and hung it from the bathroom door to get the wrinkles out. Ray66 Posted February 27, 2010 #5 Share Posted February 27, 2010 We've taken extra hangers and hung them on the rail okay.
Ray66 Posted February 28, 2010 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2010 These are the kind of hangers in the QM2 and QV wardrobes - the type you get in hotels. There are two hangers on each hook. And you can hang your own hangers straight on the rail.
Vic The Parrot Posted March 1, 2010 #7 Share Posted March 1, 2010 And, in case you need more hangers, just ask your cabin steward/ess. They'll be more than happy to bring more. :)
