10s nut Posted April 16, 2004 #27 Share Posted April 16, 2004 Toni...Thanks for the info. How can you NOT go with us? You live SO near the pier! I know you want that credit. Wonder if anyone has ever called X, said they were cruising in several months, wanted the credit, but wanted to book a future cruise now. Anyone out there negotiated a credit??? toni1266 Posted April 16, 2004 Author #28 Share Posted April 16, 2004 Hey 10's, I was just thinking the same thing. I checked cabins again this morning and there are plenty of cabins but I worry about there being any left in June. I sail June 19th and that's only three months prior to the September Cruise. toni1266 Posted April 16, 2004 Author #31 Share Posted April 16, 2004 Hi RCL.. My parents are on the twelve night repositioning cruise from Tampa to Norfolk. I believe it goes to Cozumel, Aruba, Netherlands, St. Thomas, and St. Martin, Pluse six great sea days. They'll be home on the 24th. I'm trying not to call them again, don't know that I can wait another week though. Lois.. I will give them a call first thing Monday morning. MsBonine Posted April 16, 2004 #32 Share Posted April 16, 2004 Hi Toni, I'm sure you will love the Horizon. We sailed on the Zenith to Bermuda last fall. It was a younger age group than our prior two caribbean cruises. Lots of people in their 30's to 50's. We are booked on the Horizon this fall. It's an 8 nt. sailing, so we have an extra day in Bermuda. We have quite a large group going from Baltimore. There are 40 of us and we are in our mid 40's to mid 50's. We have a couple of teens and 20's mixed in as well.If you have any questions about Bermuda, I would be happy to try to answer them. Seabreez Posted April 17, 2004 #33 Share Posted April 17, 2004 MsBonine (Nancy) We will be cruising on the Horizon 9/25/04 from Norfolk. Have cruised before with Carnival & Royal Caribbean. We need to "expand our horizons" and always kicked around Bermuda. Booked a few days ago the Concierge Class (Atlantic deck). Will the added touches be worth it?? I know that is hurricane season but hubby can't get time off till Sept. And if the rates are lowered will Celebrity offer credit if final pmt has been made?? 1st x with Celebrity Horizon 9/25/04 7 day Bermuda

MsBonine Posted April 18, 2004 #35 Share Posted April 18, 2004 Hi Lois, good to see you again too . Looks like Bermuda is a popular destination. We'll be on the same ship, just a few weeks after you. Seabreez, I'm not sure what happens if the rate drops after the final payment is made. My TA says nothing can be done in the way of a credit. I have seen others on this board that said they got a credit. I guess it just depends on your TA. Last year our Bermuda cruise fare dropped three times before we made our final payment and we saved about $300.00. Maybe we'll get lucky again this year. We have booked a concierge class room on the Atlantic deck as well. I did it mostly for the location. It's very convenient to the pool and cafe for breakfast. It looks like CC cabins have about the same amenities as the suites, but no butler. You will love Bermuda and Celebrity. It's different than your typical Caribbean cruise because you spend several days in port and the ship is more like a hotel. By the way, my hubby works in Harrisburg. Only a 1 1/2 hour commute each way Nancy Century-Eastern Caribbean 11/00 Galaxy-Ultimate Caribbean 11/02 Zenith-Bermuda 10/03 Century-Western Caribbean 01/04 Horizon-Bermuda 10/
4 cruisers Posted April 18, 2004 #36 Share Posted April 18, 2004 Hi Nancy! Sure wish we were going with your group! Tell Mari "hi" for us! We got the cruise bug and signed up for the Splendour of the Seas when free airfare to Barcelona came up using our Delta miles!(It was going to be the exact same number of miles to take Song to Ft.Lauderdale for next Jan....we would have gone on the Century again and done the east side)! We are taking my parents for their 50th anniversary and Cody won't have to miss school. Trevor has decided not to join us (you know how THAT goes! Seabreez Posted April 18, 2004 #37 Share Posted April 18, 2004 Nancy: Thank you for the "good review" on the Horizon CC cabins. We booked #1078 but did it directly with Celebrity about 8 days ago or so. Price was $1030 and $45.55 taxes. Is this too much?? Other web sites had the same price. I believe these CC cabins will eventually all have balconies since I saw a pic of one on another cruise photo site. I hope that this upgrading will not be going on when we cruise. Or perhaps they would be all completed by Sept/Oct when we cruise but with cabin just having a window and no door to balcony????? What are your thoughts on this???? Your hubby has a long drive into our city. Traffic can get congested at times. Bermuda 1st X on Celebrity 9/25/
10s nut Posted April 18, 2004 #38 Share Posted April 18, 2004 I have always found Celebrity to be the highest place to book. The website I use (I don't think I can list it)has consistently beaten most rates..Their quote is $974.45 TOTAL for CC pp. No, the balconies will not be completed. Horizon goes to dry dock in late Oct.

toni1266 Posted April 19, 2004 Author #43 Share Posted April 19, 2004 Hi Lois, Yes, I'm going to call about the early credits. The more I think about it, the more I think they'll be able to help me with it. It sure seems reasonable to me. Anyway, I'd love to book that way it's done and while I'm on the Century I can book for the girls and me next summer. I'll keep you all informed. Well, I'm going to call it a night. Both my kids went to prom last night, so I didn't sleep at all. They came home bright and early and slept half the day away, but they had a good time. Tonight I'll sleep because they're back safe in their beds... MsBonine Posted April 19, 2004 #44 Share Posted April 19, 2004 Hi Margaret & Nanette, so good to hear from you again. Nanette, your trip sounds wonderful. I have only been to Europe once, but would love to go back. Margaret, say hi to Bob for us. We had such a great time on the Century with you guys. Seabreez, we always book our cruises with the same TA. She is a personal friend and cruises with us. I'm not sure we get the best rate, but we usually travel with the same large group so it would be awkward for us to book separately. We are booked in cabin 1076 and I think we are paying about $200.00 more than you, but our sailing is 8 nts. I would love to have a balcony for our trip to Bermuda, but I don't think they will be completed until the ship goes into drydock in Nov. I understand that one balcony is in place, but I'm not sure why they did that.I keep hoping they will add more during the spring and summer.Nancy Century-Eastern Caribbean 11/00 Galaxy-Ultimate Caribbean 11/02 Zenith-Bermuda 10/03 Century-Western Caribbean 01/04 Horizon-Bermuda 10/
Seabreez Posted April 19, 2004 #45 Share Posted April 19, 2004 Nancy: I will be checking for any rate decreases for the CC but I did come across a site that has senior discounted prices on my cruise date (9/25) but only for lower deck cabins. The balcony that was done I believe was cabin #1074. But perhaps that cabin is "off limits" till after all others are done. toni1266 Posted April 20, 2004 Author #47 Share Posted April 20, 2004 Hi Lois. Celebrity said No!! They said they can't do that because they might be offering something completely different. So I'll have to wait. I don't think it will be a problem, I keep checking the site and there are plenty of cabins available. I need to book two cabins one for my sister and I and one for my mom. My sister and I smoke ( I know I know it's bad). Anyway, I'll be paying for all of it so I'm gonna have to wait for the cruise to book it. I have so many trips this summer that every little bit will help. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Quick update from my mom and dad. I spoke with them last night and they are still having a great time. They said that they wouldn't be going to St. Martin the weather was not going to be good. Celebrity gave everyone a hundered dollars cabin credit. That pleased my parents because they weren't expecting anything. They were on their way to a formal night and they said that nice officer would be joining them for dinner again. I'm so happy for them.
