Question on Buffet in NCL GEM Casino

Ok, on our one night cruise we were in the Casino for alittle while. One thing I found was, a buffet in the back corner - with OUTRAGEOUS mozzerlla sticks, chicken/beef kabob's, dumplings, cheese platters. It was actually excellent (not that the buffet food isn't - but this was fresher). Anyway, why did they have this? Do they normally have something like this? I appreciate it!

They have it because they don't want you to leave the casino to get something to eat at the Blue Lagoon or from room service. They want you to stay in the casino and gamble.

Ok, so will they do this on my upcoming 7 night cruise out of NY on the same ship? Those mozz. sticks I can still taste lol haha

They seem to have something most of the time. The variety and volume does vary. Would not count on anything in particular. For those not familiar with this, it is not a full meal type buffet. More like cocktail hour type snacks, finger foods.

They set up the buffet in the casino most nights, for an hour or so... I think they were listed in the Freestyle daily in January on the back page.

 

They even set up a mini chocoholic buffet in the casino, so you don't have to stop gambling.

I have seen the late-night snacks buffet in the casino on every NCL ship that I've sailed on in the last 5 or 6 years (probably longer). So, yes, it's on the Dawn, too.
