Upper deck Aft VS Empress Deck balcony

Hey everyone. For my upcoming cruise on the Freedom we are booked on the Empress deck (7) starboard close to the aft. There are 4 aft cabins available on the aft upper deck (6)

 

In your opinion, which one is better?

We are only just taking our 1st cruise in October, on the Conquest, but we are in an aft balcony & went with deck 7. Our thought was cabins below & above us.

We also booked a Aft Balcony on deck 7. The Aft balconys are larger than the port & starboard regular rooms. Plus the view is MUCH better.

we only choose aft rooms we fell in love with them and would not cruise any other way

I had a Balcony deck on Carnival Freedom in January, on the Empress Deck. Found it fantastic. I chose Empress Deck over upper deck because it "sandwiches" you with a cabin deck above you from noise etc from LIDO deck 9 a cabin deck below you between the PROMENADE Deck 6 where all the clubs & casino are located.

 

This was our first cruise and we found the Freedom to be a fantastic ship. Stay where you are. The Empress deck is centrally located.

I think you're saying you have a deck 7 cabin on the side close to the back but not aft facing and there are true aft facing cabins on deck 6. In that case I would probably pick a deck 6 cabin and hope the noise isn't too bad. We had a deck 6 cabin once and it wasn't too bad for us but sometimes I know they can get noisy. Lots of people like deck 6 better but we're partial to deck 7.
