sue in florida Posted March 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2010 Biker 1972 told me you could give me information on flying from Santiago to Miami. Some friends and I are booked on Celebrity infinity Dec. 5th from miami to Valpariso. When we booked our air fare was included in the price. After reading this site I am a little leery of going on a consolidator flight. SoI am trying to see if we could book our own flights. I did a little research and looked at Lan Airlines. To fly non stop from Santiago to Miami on December 20th would cost $2,907.00. That was a shocker! Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.Sue. parody Posted March 12, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2010 She is a good person to ask. Unfortunately, she has not posted to this forum in quite some time. You may want to direct your question to the "Ask A Cruise Question" or "South America" forums.
6rugrats Posted March 12, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 12, 2010 Nonstop is expensive. If you are willing to make two stops, you can find fares on LAN/COPA for $578. There are also one stop flights on LAN/AA for $754.70. This is for a roundtrip ticket. One way will cost you much more. Purchase a roundtrip and just don't use the return. frugaltravel Posted March 12, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 12, 2010 If you need a non-stop flight, you pay for non-stop flights  Best is to check other options that require a connection en route. They can easily be found for under $600 one way.
frugaltravel Posted March 12, 2010 #5 Share Posted March 12, 2010 We were posting at the same time yesterday. Actually what I saw for well under $600 (down to $500 today) is for one-way flights.
mjesf Posted March 17, 2010 #6 Share Posted March 17, 2010 One thing to note, December 20 is just at the beginning of the Christmas travel season. Cheap fares evaporate quickly.
