Whittier to Anchorage Excursions??

Hi.

We're sailing on the Carnival Spirit in June. We booked our airfare and transfers through Carnival. While looking at the Carnival website, I see that they offer excursions in/from/to Whittier/Anchorage.

Here's the question...how do I know how much time I have available for an excursion? When will I know my flight details? Will I have that information early enough to book my excursion on-line, assuming Carnival finally gets the on-line booking up and running?

Unfortunately, we don't have the time to add on extra days in Anchorage (my 30th High School Reunion is two days after we return), but if we have some time before our flight, I'd like to do a 'quickie' tour (insert your own joke here....).

Well, I have a little more information now....

I got my flight info from Carnival today. We fly out of Anchorage at 1:30pm. Our ship arrives in Whittier at 7:00 am.

How long does it take to get from the dock at Whittier to the airport at Anchorage?

At least an hour, without tunnel time. You won't have time for any tours outside of perhaps the wildlife park on the Arm.

Sorry, what exactly is 'tunnel time'?

Time to get through the tunnel. :) It is a one way tunnel open about 15 mins. per hour in each direction, it is shared with the train. http://www.dot.state.ak.us/creg/whittiertunnel/index.shtml
