Arriving Day of Cruise

We're travelling from Orlando to NY Port (Manhattan) in Sept. and are wondering if we should take a chance on going the day of cruise to avoid the hotel hassle. We can go to Newark, LGA or JFK and were going to use the Carnival transfers to ship. Any advice?

I flew into NY two days before the cruise in August 2008 and will fly into NY one day before the cruise in July 2010. My advise, fly in the day before.

If you are not going to fly in the day before, fly in on a non-stop that leaves early in the morning.
