We are sailing on the Regal Princess on March 24th but spending two nights prior in Fort Lauderdale. Have checked out web sites for Comfort Inn and Best Western Marina and Yacht Inn, both near 17th St. Causeway. Anyone have any comments on either of these hotels.:) Thanks

My Uncle has a condo in FLL (unfortunately they've already got company the night we're spending pre cruise lol) and he highly recommended the Sleep Inn & Suites on 5th Ave in Dania.

They have free transfers to and from the airport AND the Pier, along with free continental breakfast. Uncle personally checked out the hotel (said they were very nice, even showed him a room) and he felt we would be very happy there. Plus, the rate was very good, we got a suite for about $100 (because there were no non-smoking regular rooms left when we booked).

Good luck and enjoy your cruise!

We stayed at the Comfort Inn cruise port south on sterling rd. It's great for a one night, they have a shuttle to pick you up at the airport and a shuttle to the ships. It also include's a complimentary breakfast. They also have shopping behind the hotel in cause you forget anything or want to get some beer, wine, or soda at the kmart. This hotel is also attached to the Hampton Inn. Hope this helps!!!

Stayed at the Best Western 12/13/03. Got in late (after 10). There was a restaurant that was closed but remained open to feed the guests that had been "trapped" at the airport by a huge holiday boat parade. There was a club that went on with live music near the pool that evening. The free shuttle was crowded but it got us there. The rooms were average/nice. Continental breakfast was average.

We originally decided on this hotel so that we COULD see the boat parade but because of an airline delay, we were "trapped" at the airport for 2 hours because all of the bridges were open until the completion of the parade. Funny how things work out...

Since you are there for 2 days prior to your cruise, stay somewhere nice and either on the water or the intercoastal. Depending on your budget you could stay at Marriott Harbor Beach, Lago Mar (both resorts), Hyatt Pier 66, Radisson Bahia Mar(4*), Marriott Marina, and then there are the 3*'s such as the Sheraton Clipper or Trader. Also, there is a best western Oceanside, which is clean and basic, but is right on the beach side of the road, behind the sheraton. There is nothing interesting near the hotels you mentioned. If you don't care about the beach, there is a nice new Seminole Hard Rock Hotel with great pool area.

I have not heard good things about the BW as well and went with the Hyatt Pier 66. Great hotel for $95 on PL. Great value. Would be a great choice since you are there 2 nights pre-cruise. Check it out. pier66.com
