williluvcruisin Posted March 21, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 21, 2010 Is it real orange juice or is it orange flavoured drink crystals? I presume it is not fresh squeezed, but even reconstituted frozen OJ is better than tang.

KenMo Posted March 21, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 21, 2010 I don't know what it is for sure. It's either tang or very watered down OJ. Whatever it is, it's nasty. At least from the dining room.
poobears Posted March 21, 2010 #5 Share Posted March 21, 2010 I think it's a very watered down concentrate, not tang.
cb at sea Posted March 21, 2010 #6 Share Posted March 21, 2010 It's real OJ from concentrate, just like most OJ in cartons is....or the frozen kind you mix up....I do think they add more water than recommended! It is NOT Tang! I don't mind concentrate...as long as the mix is right! Don't care for the pulp, so "fresh squeezed" isn't for me, and it's almost always bitter, anyway! PoofyTheCat Posted March 21, 2010 #7 Share Posted March 21, 2010 Eeeeek! I was wondering if I can bring my Jack Lalanne power juicer on board the ship and can I take oranges from the buffet and make my own orange juice? Should I pack my juicer or bring it in my carry on? Is there a dishwasher near my stateroom where I can wash my Jack Lalanne power juicer? :D
madge57 Posted March 21, 2010 #8 Share Posted March 21, 2010 Trust me its not Tang!!! That is the worst stuff ever who cares if the astronauts drank it YUCK!!!
golfadj Posted March 21, 2010 #9 Share Posted March 21, 2010 Is it real orange juice or is it orange flavoured drink crystals? I presume it is not fresh squeezed, but even reconstituted frozen OJ is better than tang. It is not worthy to be called OJ. For past few years it is awful. Have had it in DR, Lido deck and room serv ice and it sucks no matter where you get it. The pineapple juice though is excellent so have given up on OJ with Carnival. jetskier Posted March 21, 2010 #10 Share Posted March 21, 2010 It is concentrate that comes in a milk carton style container. It is then poured into the container in the dispenser. The dispenser then mixes it with water. Dave
maxamuus Posted March 21, 2010 #11 Share Posted March 21, 2010 It is concentrate, but very poorly mixed. I had one glass and the top was all water and the bottom was pure syrup. Nasty stuff. The Guava stuff wasnt bad tho i drink that most mornings.
MrPete Posted March 21, 2010 #12 Share Posted March 21, 2010 It's not Tang, but it's not fresh squeezed. You can buy freshed squeezed OJ on some lines. Not sure if CCL is doing that yet. I don't think I've actually had fresh squeezed juice, even at home, short of eating an orange.
nrdsb4 Posted March 21, 2010 #13 Share Posted March 21, 2010 ^^^The orange is better for you anyway.:)
DGP1111 Posted March 21, 2010 #14 Share Posted March 21, 2010 ( I hope this works, as I'm having to totally guess where the correct buttons are ) . Here is a link for the company (Vitality) who provides the juices and dispensers onboard Carnival Cruise Lines. With a few extra clicks you can probably find all the info, including nutrition details, for the juices. . http://www.vitalityfoodservice.com/. wfinley Posted March 21, 2010 #15 Share Posted March 21, 2010 Last cruise I got tired of the free drinks (IMO the tea is far worse then the juice). So I said screw it and got a soda card. Diet Coke for me, morning, noon, and night. I think by breakfast was over I had drunk 4 glasses. Never leave home without the soda card and all your worries are answered. evergladesgator Posted March 21, 2010 #17 Share Posted March 21, 2010 Taste terrible and DO NOT DRINK the Contents at the bottom of the Glass !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The worst attempt at fooling the people into thinking they are serving OJ. :( I bet ya Mickey don't serve that garbage to his kids or business associates. Boomer-kc Posted March 21, 2010 #18 Share Posted March 21, 2010 I just sent an email to Vitality Food Service through their "Contact Us" button complaining about the OJ and asking why they don't help CCL improve the product and/or mixing of it in their machines. Knights on the Beach Posted March 22, 2010 #22 Share Posted March 22, 2010 It amazes me that I never thought it was as bad as almost everyone here thinks it is. Has it changed that much in two years or am I just not that picky? ;) I prefer the guava juice anyway.
golfadj Posted March 22, 2010 #23 Share Posted March 22, 2010 We have been cruising for over 10 years and some years ago and do not remember how long, Carnival's OJ turned to crappola.
