Missa Posted March 25, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2010 In November, my family of 4 and I are flying to Orlando for a week, then driving to Tampa for our 5 day cruise. We are flying out of Philly via Airtran. Airtran charges per bag. My youngsters are 3 & 5, and thie clothes do not take up much space, plus the 3 yo is potty trained, so no diapers to pack, yeah!!! So we can do two rolling carry-ons, one for me, one for hubby, and back-packs for each kid for their extras. (I've packed tight like this before, I can do it) My question is, at the pier, can we continue to carry-on our luggage, or do we have to allow the porters to take them off our hands and we'll see them later that night? pedropuppy Posted March 25, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 25, 2010 You can carry them directly onto the ship yourself. The only thing is, if your cabin is not ready when you board, you will have to lug the baggage with you everywhere you go.
AF-1 Posted March 25, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 25, 2010 you shouldn't have a problem with your luggage. since you only have a few bags for the family; you can bring the roller boards and backpacks with you onboard. People who have large luggage or more than two pieces per person; will leave their larger pieces at the dock and have the crew load them. One word of caution; whatever luggage you bring onboard you will have to keep with you until you have access to your room. Normally most ships don't open the rooms to the passengers until 1pm. So if board prior to 1pm, you will need to keep your luggage with you until you get to your rooms. Cheers
starlake Posted March 25, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 25, 2010 You can carry it on the ship--no need to hand it over to the porters.
